Yes lol, I forgot to do that this time… stupidest mistake ever.

/hj is the worst tone indicator. It's confusing and ambiguous. I hate it. The point of tone indicators is to indicate tone, or the way that a piece of text should be read, but what does “half joking” mean? Do you just wake up in the morning and think “wow, I really have something I want to talk about seriously but also kinda not, IDK you decide.” It's useless. I hate it. It just provokes a deep rooted anger within me whenever I see it. People just comment /hj as if it makes any sense. It doesn't. Oh wow, it's a tone indicator that's has a relative meaning, how useful, I'll use it in every comment I post. NO. STOP IT. You're a tone indicator, you have only one job, and yet you sit there doing nothing apart angering me.

/srs

^^^ (there's more below)
This one is useful because it tells you that this signature is fully 100% serious. (/srs) Who would've thought that tone indicators needed to tell you something about the piece of text they're attached to? /s

I'm serious, I'm not even going to put multiple (/hj)s a the end of my signature as to mock the previous paragraph for not getting the point of something(like previous version of my signature). /srs

How about you get one message per 5 activities in that forum? 1:5 Now you might say “what's the difference than just reloading the page in a few minutes?” Well, it's better than just camping that forum.

TBH, the only use this has is the announcements forum(at least for me), because it's not like forumers are on the homepage all day, reloading the page.

Are you sure? I get so bored that I hop between Suggestions, QaS (and sometimes HwS) because I'm so bored.

You would be surprised to hear that they do not. Even Scratch Cat has to discuss features with us to make sure they're good — it's called the Scratch Team, after all.

Yeah, but we all know griffpatch secretly runs the scratch team; I mean, he’s GRIFFPATCH. It would be outright dumb to not have griffpatch on the team. But, since it’s impossible for a human to make such good projects, it has to be either Scratch Cat, Gobo, Pico, and the other one. It has to be Scratch Cat, because the other one is too obscure, Pico is to busy making records, and Gobo is, well, Gobo. So, Scratch Cat in fact DOES have all the power, and the scratch team is a hoax made by NASA to distract from the fact that the moon landing was fake, the earth is flat, the government is run by lizard people, and spocite is a serial killer.

Furthermore, all the “Scratch Team members” are also fake. I mean, @Paddle2See is a robot designed to reject suggestions, @Za-Chary is, well, he might be held hostage by Gobo, I have no idea about him… All the rest though, they’re just actors…

I'm jealous of the people who can be active in multiple forums. It's just Suggestions and Suggestions only for me

You also make like 3 times as many posts as they do when you're just in suggestions

I think you need to add ‘category’ at the end, or something along the lines, as that makes it seem like an actual topic.

That is not quite how it works.
Plus, Suggestions does not blow up like that.

Support if its like the current “Follow Discussion” button, maybe it'll be like:
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/1/unread/
and it will only work if new posts are created, not posted on. Thats why the “Follow Discussion” button exists, so you can follow a topic on a forum.
For the Mock-Up, replace “posts” with “topics”
This will combat the “necropost and spam” issue that GIS brought up.

I actually like this suggestion a lot more now that people have mentioned that only new threads will give notifications. Of course some forums will still be too active for this to be practical but some are updated much less frequently and therefore it could work. And besides, sometimes when I'm testing modding stuff out, it would be convenient to quickly give myself notifications

Or yes, it could be like that. Just one message that says “You have 1,384 new posts in the Suggestions forum” instead of 1,384 messages.

If it works like the “following discussion” messages, this would still flood your messages. If you get a message saying there was a new post, check it, you will get another notification the next time there's a post. Since it's an entire forum and that you'll likely be patiently waiting for posts anyway, I fel like that will happen a lot.

Depends, my messages kinda flooded in a shop because of the members talking (just a partner but i ordered there twice) so message floods are still possible, but I find it easier than just checking each forum every so often in a day.
