Uploading .svg files bug

I just made a little logo thing in Inkscape and saved it as a .svg file. Everything was fine (it looked normal in my browser and in a vector image viewing program), but then when I uploaded it to Scratch the objects got moved and changed. Here is a before and after uploading to Scratch

I am very new to vector image editing and Inkscape, so chances are its my fault. But if this is a bug and you know how to fix it, please respond! Thanks in advance

Nope that's scratch's fault. it doesn't support all the customizations and features of a full vector program, so it interprets it to the best of its ability. That's just the result. We can only hope the 3.0 editor is better.

It was me.

There are several different types of SVG files
1.0. 1.1, 1.2 Basic, 1.2 Tiny, and 2.x

Scratch uses the version SVG 1.2 Tiny

If you find that transparent areas of your file have become black or white, you can make them transparent again with the vector editor fill tool and the transparent paint swatch.

Thank you for this response! Is there a way I can export to a specific SVG file type in inkscape?

There should be. I don't have that program. Adobe Illustrator lets you choose the SVG type.

If you can choose in Inkscape, it should be an option in the export box or in the save as box.

When you add a sprite from your backpack into another sprite, it comes out huge and chops off either the top or the bottom. What do I do?

That would only happen if these two things were true…

1. The sprite is larger than 480x360

2. You looked at it in the costume editor

Next time make a new thread instead of necroposting about a different topic.

I have problems with the .svg files turning big. When I try to import my files to Scratch, the costume editor won't even fix the resolution, so that means I can't change the size without screwing up! How do I change the file's resolution so it fits Scratch better?
when green flag clicked
forever
wait until <response from someone>
end

You should adjust the size in a graphics editor such as GIMP, Inkscape, etc.

Also I would suggest creating a new post instead of necroposting a 2 year old thread.

idk what happens when you upload an svg file from your computer, does it put it in as a vector, or a bitmap?
