should scratch have a private messaging system
Now I have been pondering on this subject should scratch have a privet messaging system. I think this would be a good addition to the already great scratch. This would be a great thing because If you are collaborating you could share your Ideas without having the chance for a scratcher to come along and pick up that conversation that you want to keep secret. and you should make privet studios and only the people you add can see the chats and projects. so this is just my point of view if you can share yours.

The Scratch Team has considered this suggestion before and rejected it, which means that they will not implement it. This is their reasoning for doing so:

7.1 Private messagingIn the future, you should read the Official List of Rejected Suggestions sticky to make sure that your suggestion isn't rejected. You should also read (or at least take a look at) any other stickies in a forum you are going to post in (the topics labeled “Sticky” with a pushpin icon), as they contain important information that you should be aware of. Keep thinking of ways to improve Scratch!
Scratch currently has public messaging, meaning anyone is able to see the comments that you write. As a result, people are more likely to be respectful since anyone can see the comment. However, with private messaging, people know that only the intended recipient can see the message, which could lead to many more disrespectful or inappropriate comments. The Scratch Team also simply does not have the resources to moderate a private messaging system, precisely because there would be a lot of bad comments. In addition, it is a huge Internet safety concern, and is not really the purpose of using Scratch anyway.
This suggestion extends to allowing users to post links to other private messaging websites, such as Discord. Many such messaging websites are not as well-moderated as Scratch is. If such links were allowed, Scratch may be held responsible if anything bad happens to someone.
