Mass Reporting
This isn't exactly a question, but I think if a project gets mass reported and gets put back up because it was fake, all of the people who reported it should get some kind of warning and if they do it too much, a temporary ban

I think this belongs in suggestions and I will start the conversation.
Support. Some people lie about being mass reported to cover up inappropriate behaviour. If we can take down people who mass report then we will know they are lying and will get banned for deceiving the community.

I absolutely agree. Alternatively, they should have their ability to report projects removed.

this person is meanon the not-so mean project, if it was like this
this person stole code! [insert link to code]and it turns out he did credit, but they probably won't get a warning

I support, though this might be at least partially implemented already. People who report incorrectly should have their right to report inappropriate content revoked.

Moved to Suggestions.
However, I have a problem with this one. Many users report a project for what they think is a legitimate reason, only for it to not actually be that bad. I always encourage users to report a project if they're not sure if it's inappropriate. Thus, if we check it out and it's not inappropriate, but the reporter thought it might be, they shouldn't be punished for it.
For instance, let us suppose that a game features a weapon that resembles a real gun. Someone reports it for being too violent, and then I check it out and find that the project is not really that violent. I'll put the project back up, but also not reprimand the reporter. It might not have been a “legitimate” report, but it was an honest report, and a good use of the Report button.
We only alert users who maliciously report project with stuff like “I hate this game” or “rusbaickdisndjsobwc,” etc. If we alerted the ones who made honest reports, then Scratchers would be afraid to report projects — in particular, they would be afraid to report projects that are actually inappropriate, because not reporting the project would be the better alternative to getting an alert for being told that their report was not “legitimate” enough. That's not really a mindset we want Scratchers to have when using the Report button.

-snip-I'm assuming the implementation of this suggestion would take care of that, as in, only obviously false reports would have consequences. I do think that a “we decided not to act on your report” message would be a good idea along with this, but that's getting a little bit off-topic.

Okay, then this is already implemented since we send alerts to users who clearly misuse the Report button. Unless there's something else about the suggestion that I'm missing?-snip-I'm assuming the implementation of this suggestion would take care of that, as in, only obviously false reports would have consequences.

At first I thought they suggested a little more, but after rereading the OP I think you're right. Should this be closed then?Okay, then this is already implemented since we send alerts to users who clearly misuse the Report button.
