I am going to be holding a warriors writing contest! Anybody can enter as a writer, an illustrator, or both! Writers info is right under here, illustrator info is under that.

Hi, writers! To be a writer in this contest, you do not have to show me how you write or anything. You just have to write! There are some different types of writing you can do listed below, and then I will explain to you how to enter your writing and what the prizes are!
Types of Writing
-In the form of a short story, with no chapters and 100-1000 words
-With at least 3 chapters, and at least 1000 words
-In the form of a graphic novel, where you are expected to write and draw
-In the form of a poem, more info here

You can do any of those things with characters from the books, characters you entirely made up, or some real and some made-up. If you do make up a character, don't give them a name already in the book like ‘Fireheart’ or ‘Tigerclaw’. You may make up to three entries. They do not have to be in the same genre, or a different genre. Just make sure you put them in separate projects.

To Enter: Type out your story on a scratch project. I will be typing the exact words you wrote into another project (unless you made it a graphic novel-based story), so use whatever font you want right now. If you are writing a graphic novel-based story, please either write by hand or use sans serif. If you are writing a story with chapters, you may have three illustrations. If you are writing a short story, you may have one illustration. Illustration info is below. After you have typed out your story, design any pictures and put them where they would go. I will have a hired illustrator draw it. Post your project with the story, and link it in this forum.

Illustrations: If you have applied to be an illustrator, then you may draw your own illustrations. If you are doing a graphic novel-based theme, you may also draw your own illustrations. Also, when anybody writes their story, they must design a cover. A cover is a square, approximately the size of your palm (if you're a kid). You can put this cover design in the same project as your story, or a seperate project. Just make sure you link it, too. I will have an illustrator draw the cover for you.

Prizes!: I will pick 5-10 stories to publish in a warriors library that I will code on scratch. Of those 5-10, I will pick the top 3, with some help from other people. Those top 3 will get the following prizes:
3rd Place: A love on 5 of their projects
2nd Place: A love on all of their projects, and a fav on their best one
1st Place: A love on all of their projects, a fav on their best project, and a follow from me.
Every contestant will be mentioned in the notes and credits section if they were picked as one of the 5-10
More prizes are mentioned in another post below.

You must post your story(ies) by April 26th, 2021. You will only be given a 4-day extension if you ask.
That is the end of writer info. Now for the illustrators!

Hi, Artists! To be an artist in this contest, you will be required to submit three things:
1. A picture of a warrior cat that you found online
2. A drawing you did of that warrior cat on a computer/iPad
3. A drawing of a warrior cat that you made completely by yourself

The first two things are to show me how good you are at copying designs, and the third is to show me how well you can draw on your own, without a design.

Put these three pictures in a project, name it “Artist Application” or something like that, and post it on this forum. I will tell you, hopefully within 48 hours, if you made it or not.

If you made it: If I tell you that you are now an illustrator, you have some options. If you are writing, you may draw your own pictures for the writing, as you have been an accepted illustrator. Every time a new writing is posted, if I think it is good, I will ask you to draw a cover for it. Only draw covers that you are assigned, as I am assigning them based on the different illustrator's skills. You will be credited in the notes and credits section for illustrating, and I have faith that you will do awesome!

Q: I'm one of the judges, but I really like writing. Am I allowed to enter?
A: Yes. Because there are other judges, and everyone will be judged anonymously, you may enter along the same guidelines as other writers.
Q: My friend and I have a really good idea for a story. Can we write is together?
A: Yes, you can do that. Just make sure to give your friend credit so I know it's made by both of you
Q: I am a hired illustrator, and I'm also writing. I have a really good cover design. Can I draw the real cover?
A: No. Unless you are specifically given that cover by me, I'm afraid that I have to leave the cover to someone else. But you can design the cover with the angle of the cat(s), the cat color(s), and the background!
Q: Can I write something in the same format of Tales of Perfectheart?
A: Yes, you can. When you enter it here, say that the genre is “Graphic Novel,” since that is the closest thing to Tales of Perfectheart.

Those were all prizes, including illustrator prizes, which I forgot up top.

~Detailed fur
~Good backgrounds
~Eyes that reflect light
~Perfect colors

Get two of the things in your section into what you're making, and you'll almost certainly get to the top 3! (Or top two, for artists)

This sounds cool! I think I might try it. If I do, my story will be ready around the beginning of March and I'll post it then! Also, do you think that Sappaw is a good name, even with the double P?

As long as he/she's not the main character, and becomes a warrior/medicine cat soon, I think Sappaw is perfectly fine. Also, thank you for doing it! I look forward to seeing your and others' stories!

It can be anything that's a cat, since I am looking for good at artists.

Deadline change: If you really need it, you will get an extension to April 30th. Just ask for one on the 26th, and I'll give you the four days. After the 30th, though, no more entries will be accepted, unless otherwise told by me. Judging will start and I will be asking illustrators to illustrate. (Any illustrators, please come out from your hiding spot and ask to be an illustrator.
