Well, to record sound, what you'll first need to do is go to the Sounds tab (next to “Scripts” and “Costumes”), and click on the picture of a microphone. From there, you should see three buttons on the right:

A triangle: Play
A square: Pause
A circle: Record

Press the third button whenever you're ready to record, and click the square one once you're done.
