On the current 1.4 forums, you can't see transparent text if you are not on IE and when it is not highlighted. In these forums, even without highlighting it, I can see it.

I could never see it, even when it was highlighted. If you want a spoiler tag, just request a spoiler tag. It's pretty low priority, though.
