No support. Scratch is an imaginative thing, just saying Hey, I`m gonna use this isn`t creativeReally thats why your not supporting? Is downloading images to use as sprites saying “Hey, I`m gonna use this” Heck even using sprites from the scratch sprite library your still not making your own are you? Yeah why dont we all just draw every sprite ever. Oh wait not everyone knows how to draw good.

Ayyy, ever heard of mp3 or wavNo support. If you want to do extreme hi def animation stuff use a gif or apng or whateverA gif doesn't have sound.
eyyy, ever heard of "I don't want to split my video into a horrible GIF, and sound, and then wait 3 hours of my life importing them(3 second GIF take forever to load in the Scratch Editor, imagine if I tried to upload a 30 minute GIF, and then adding on the 3 minutes it would take to upload the audio, that's like 1 hour + 3 minutes, 1 hour 3 minutes… and not to mention the fact that GIFs can fall out of order, meaning I would spend an hour(at the very least) combing through the 30 minutes, 1:03+1:00=2:03, and then, you realize, “oops, the audio is too big, I need to cut it up into seperate sections” (2:03 + 10 = 2:13) and then, you realize that you need to find the frame rate of the original video, so you go searching through your files for a video that you might not even have.(2:13+30=2:43), OMG, you found it, you look at the frame rate, and spend like 10 minutes on matching up the frame rates, finally, a working thing, and it only took 2:53!)?"You couldNo support. You could draw that gif using paint with separate frames

Oh no, that's even worse. Imagine sitting on your couch for a day just to import a 5 second video clip to Scratch by drawing the frame by hand using its terrible paint editor.eyyy, ever heard of "I don't want to split my video into a horrible GIF, and sound, and then wait 3 hours of my life importing them(3 second GIF take forever to load in the Scratch Editor, imagine if I tried to upload a 30 minute GIF, and then adding on the 3 minutes it would take to upload the audio, that's like 1 hour + 3 minutes, 1 hour 3 minutes… and not to mention the fact that GIFs can fall out of order, meaning I would spend an hour(at the very least) combing through the 30 minutes, 1:03+1:00=2:03, and then, you realize, “oops, the audio is too big, I need to cut it up into seperate sections” (2:03 + 10 = 2:13) and then, you realize that you need to find the frame rate of the original video, so you go searching through your files for a video that you might not even have.(2:13+30=2:43), OMG, you found it, you look at the frame rate, and spend like 10 minutes on matching up the frame rates, finally, a working thing, and it only took 2:53!)?"eyyy, have you ever thought about frame by frame importing? Actually gonna semi-support. You can always use EzGif but that's time-consuming for most people, and it'd make it a lot easier to import stuff.

I learned the hard way that mp4 to gif can cause file size to skyrocket. Edging closer to support, also bump

This I support; it would take too long just to upload and convert a sprite to a GIF.

I was going to make a full length music video using an Mp4 as a sprite and it popped up a “sorry scratch was unable to load the sprite” and it set me back.Support
I am working on downloading the gifs and the Mp3 but can't we have Mp4 support?
I was attempting the same thing for Juice Wrld's song Wishing Well. I tried turning the file from .mp4 to .gif, but it still says importing as of my writing this.
.mp4 support would be really nice, and it doesnt even have to have .mp4 audio support, just the basic video portion would be super helpful
it would be even easier to make animations due to the fact that you could animate on another platform and upload the mp4 file to scratch, reducing space usage, lag, and load times

MP4 has stupid patent issues (but so did MP3 until 2017), and on Firefox, support for it depends entirely on your OS.

It might be a good idea. I am still unsure. I think this would be a delightful idea but MP4s are a lot, so I think the 10MB limit would be marvelous! (sorry tearing out a more formal tone)

Imagine if 400K out of 500K projects on scratch used this? What would happen to the servers and your RAM? Has any thought been actually put into this?

I do not!
1. Scratch is for programming, it is not youtube.
2. Space;
3. Think of the things it could do (Hate/ agenst guidlines)
isn't that doable with gif already?

Can't you just use something like online converter to convert files from mp4 to png?
