Just go to a sprite and click “Sounds”, pick a sound to add then add this for example:

when [space v] key pressed
play sound [chosen sound v]

You can choose sounds from the sound library or download them yourself, or you can get sounds from other people's projects by going into them, finding the sound, right-clicking and clicking “save in local file”. Just remember to give credit if you choose the latter. (Just if you don't know how to get sounds.)

At the top of each sprite's scripts palette (where you drag scripts from) you should see three buttons: Scripts; Costumes and Sounds. Click on sounds, and a new pane should open up. Now, at the top there is a loudspeaker symbol, if you click on this you can choose sounds to add to your project from within the Scratch sounds library. Once you've added all the sounds you want, you can play them within your project by using the sounds blocks.

How do you add songs from a video or upload a sound?

To upload a sound, it has to be a certain type of file (I'm not exactly sure what it has to be). Click “Upload sound from file” and choose the sound and wait for it to upload.

How do I download my own sounds? For example if I had a song on youtube I wanted to be in my project, how would I do that?
