My browser / operating system: ChromeOS 13421.53.0, Chrome 86.0.4240.77, No Flash version detected

I have been having this problem where the website is telling me to try again or download. I uploaded a 6-minute song but I still believe it should save. Can someone explain why this is happening to me?

Scratch projects on the website won't be able to save if they contain any file that is over 10 megabytes (MB). Songs and sound files tend to be the largest.

First you can check the file size of the song. If it's over 10 MB, you might have to chop it up a bit so that it doesn't take up more than 10 MB. But if you try to edit the sound, you may notice that if the edit leaves the resulting sound too long, it won't apply the changes. The sound editor converts any format of sound to WAV when you're editing it, but if it goes over 10 MB, the edit won't work.

Instead, you could try selecting parts of the song and copying them to a new sound, as demonstrated in this GIF.


And then you can play all the parts with these blocks:

play sound [(name)2 v] until done
play sound [(name)3 v] until done
play sound [(name)4 v] until done
etc.::grey

I came to this forum for help, I saved my game but it says, “file not supported”, I worked really hard on this project I am really infuriates by this. how do I fix this!?!?!?!?!?

Is the file “.sb”/“.sb2”/“.sb3”, and can you send a screenshot?
Edit: also, how are you trying to open it? Did you set Scratch to the default application for it?
