This would be super annoying for people who already know about it, I can already feel the rage when Dream does this lol..
Maybe if it gets accepted, it would only apply to people who are new from then on

Heccit wrote:

no support for three reasons:

1. while there are some short stickies that new scratchers could easily read, there are also some stickies that are very large (like the rejected suggestions sticky) that would take lots of time to go through
There is no time limit to read it, and your supposed to read them anyway, no matter the length

Heccit wrote:

2. imagine if an experienced scratcher decided to move accounts. It would take a while for them to take several quizzes on things they already know
Well, it's not like they would take forever on those quizzes, if you already know the answers, and you could just always use the Forums on your old account if you don't want to do a quiz

Heccit wrote:

3: Stickies can change over time, so if there is a big addition to the sticky, the ST would have to add code to make a new question just to be sure that the new scratcher understands it.
Yes, they would have to add and remove questions over time, and when people who succeed the quizzes, when they're done they'll be told to check back once in a while for any updates

I think this is kind of Overkill, maybe just a hard-to-miss Pop up that says “Welcome to the Forums! Read these Topics before you get Started!”
What are the chances of them listening, how many people read the Privacy Policy or the ToU though it says so when you make an account

If they're experienced, they should know these things by the back of their hand, so they should ace each quiz in less than a minute.
yeah that was exactly what I was thinking in the back of my mind while writing that
Let's say there are 6 stickies in each forum, each quiz takes 30 seconds, and there are 5 forums a user has specific interest in. It would take 15 minutes, which you don't even have to do all at once.
15 Questions probably wouldn't take 30 seconds, unless you studied HARD but even with that, 15 questions in 30 seconds, that's 2 seconds per question, that may as well be the time you take to read the question, even if they know it at the back of their hand

15 questions? I thought it was like, 5

Some users don't read the stickies, that is obvious in cases where, someone suggests a rejected suggestion, that is really common in the Suggestion Forums I don't know about the others because I hardly ever go there.
In order to stop this, when a user goes to a Forum they have never used before, there will be a cooldown for less than an hour I haven't come up with a fixed time. They won't be able to post or make a new topic, they would be only able to read the stickies. They would then be instructed to read each one. At the end of the OP there would be a box to check to say you've read that sticky, when you've checked that box, a little quiz would open, with questions about things written in that sticky, I'm not sure how many questions should be there, for now I've chosen 15.

I think 5 is a better number as it's good enough to tell someone actually paid attention while not too long where the user quits halfway through and forgets all about the forums

I don't see how you can't take a quiz on mobile

If a Forum has no stickies, well no quiz, because that means there is nothing that you need to know about (There are forums with no stickies?)

No support. Like said before by many users, stickies change often.

and like I said, when finishing all the stickies, you get a little pop up reminding you to check back once in a while for updates

Rather than trying to have someone read the stickies or test them on the stickies before they make a single post, I think it's better to just direct them to a certain sticky when they need the help. I don't really have a problem with people suggesting rejected suggestions — it's likely that, by doing so, someone will tell them their suggestion is rejected, thereby giving a more personal encounter, and the knowledge will more likely stick.

In all honesty, I don't expect anyone to read the stickies before posting. Certainly I'm not alone in this when I say that I have never read all the stickies in the Suggestions forum in detail. I've probably read the “List of Rejected Suggestions” and “Scratch Design Goals” stickies in detail, and none of the others. Almost everything I know about the forums these days were learned simply by posting on and browsing the forums. Experience is a great way to learn, rather than trying to “study” for some sort of “quiz.”

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

An example for the test in The Official List Of Rejected Suggestion
1. Pick the Rejected Suggestion
a. Disabling Backpack
b. Private chat
c. Dark Mode
d. Onion Skins

2. Why is Text base Syntax rejected I picked this one because it's pretty simple

I'll add this to the OP
