Ideas for Scratches future!

Hey i looooooove scratch! But honestly i would love if some of these ideas were implemented into scratch.

(1) Remixing is optional! I wish when you were uploading a game you could choose if the public would be allowed to remix or not. Some games that i thought of MYSELF i would like to keep private. But people remix and take credit. pls make option

(2) .exe files…. I know you can convert it to .exe but its not really… Like you can still access the editing panel when you convert to .exe . i wish there was a program that you could make your own picture for the icon, and so theres only the game and when you launch it automatically simulates clicking the green flag.

(3) Make an option where you can see the javascript code. It would help everyone learn. you dont really have to make it editable but like if we can see it thats good.

If you added this stuff AMAZING! Thanks, love ya guys!

I'll have my say on this….

I'm afraid that the community isin't set up like this, and everything is open to everyone. If someone just copies it, then report it, but if they changed something, even if it's a small something, it's fine

I'd rather like this, and there are some community-made programs that do a similar job. Have a poke around in Advanced Topics.

(3) Make an option where you can see the javascript code. It would help everyone learn. you dont really have to make it editable but like if we can see it thats good.
While this would be cool(and I rather would like this), Scratch dosen't work like that. It scans through the code and runs that in Flash, rather than converting it to flash. Once again, there probably is a community-made compiler out there.

If you added this stuff AMAZING! Thanks, love ya guys!
Ninja'd?

1) What Paddle2See said to someone else that suggested preventing remixing. You can ignore the third paragraph.

3) I don't support. Even if people could see the java script, who would really care about it? Who learns java script by looking at it? Better to just use the blocks and ignore the complicated stuff. Simplicity.

1. Rejected.

2. Scratch offline editor.

3. Not necessary. I doubt most people are interested.

Ok. Would you find it interesting enough to be looking at it for months?
If yes, think about other people. There are people who really care about the code (very few), and there are people who don't even care what the code even looks like (many) and also because they can't even edit it.
If no, then whatever.

I'd be interested–but yeah, most people, even on a programming-related website if Scratch is any example (okay, so maybe less on other websites, then), aren't really interested in learning more about that stuff.

About the remixing thing, to put it more clearly, Scratch, as I understand it… is not meant to be a website where you post a popular project and everyone loves you and worships you and suddenly you have 9,000,000,000,000 friends. Stealing credit is not allowed in Scratch, but preventing others from looking at your code and using it is worse, because it goes against a lot of what Scratch stands for. Scratch is about sharing. Sharing projects, sharing code, sharing ideas, sharing tools… If you want to prevent others from examining, learning from, and using your ideas, then I'm sorry to say it, but you came to the wrong website. I don't mean to offend you or anyone else, but it's the truth.

Well honestly it would be an option to look at the javascript. If you dont. want to learn it, use the blocks. Many people use scratch to help them at beginning to learn javascript. I want to go further and actually make games that i coded myself. Also about the remixing. Im on vacation in florida and my keyboards bad on my laptop (cant bring desktop) so it tires me having to erase and rewrite. So i dont write my whole ideas. Il write them all now. When i say i dont want them to remix, i mean like what if i make my very own idea. Like lets suppose i create a series like pokemon (but not pokemon lets just use it as example) and someone else remixes the game and people find theres and they get all the credit. Then i get no credit and i was the one who created it. And i understand remixing is important to scratch. But i didnt say to remove remixing entirely. All i said was to make it optional to allow people to remix. Kind of like uploading a video to youtube theres and option to allow people to comment or not. And for the .exe thing, i really dont see how the scratch offline editor would fix that. Anyways thanks for replying. I like how people atleast took the time to write there own opinions.

Didnt read MrFlash's reply. Sry. You are right about most of the stuff. I didnt know you could report for copying. Im not used to uploading the games i make. I met scratch through the offline editor and i like it that way,

Eh, fair enough. It's a bit more complex than ‘they copied, report.’ If (absolutely, entirely) nothing changed, then report, otherwise, ask for credit.

No offense, but I already know that. Please reread what I said. Carefully. I mean every word of it.

Scratch doesn't compile into JavaScript, so you wouldn't be able to look at its JavaScript.

Me.
1. check out the javaScript version move 10 steps
2. write down in a document the javaScript version of move ten steps
3. repeat steps 1-2 with all the blocks you want indefinitely
4. write up a javaScript game with your new knowledge.

Compared to 1000000+ users, I don't think a few users is enough to prove that most people would actually pay attention to the java script.

Yea..
and also Scratch doesn't compile into JS unless someone made a program to do so I don't really know.
