Magic: The Gathering

It is a card game!

So, I got Tibalt from a Duel Deck, and I was wondering, should I get a starter deck as this is my first and only deck?
EDIT: Thread renewed. See post #17.

Get a Deck-Builder's Toolkit. It costs a bit more, but one of the funnest parts of Magic is making your own deck.

Yes, definitely. It's always good to have a lot of decks handy if your enemy has a strong deck against yours. I usually keep like 5 or 6 spare decks around. Also try making your own deck it's a lot of fun and you can find new powers to defuse your enemies with.

So I went out and bought the Gatecrash intro kit and one booster, and, seeing as I have 165 cards, is there a maximum deck size?

No, but it is good to keep it around 60 especially for beginners. Also try to keep around 40 normal cards and 20 lands

Oh, I also forgot that besides lands, you can only have 4 of each card.

So I have 165 cards, and I want to make a deck. Would 80-100 cards be good for a beginner? And would someone mind telling me how many lands with that?
Also, what are the dimensions of a Magic card?

60 cards I think is good for a beginner and it should have around 40 normal cards and 20 normal lands.

And what do you mean by dimensions?

The dimensions of a Magic card are 2.5 by 3.5 inches. As for the spell to land ratio fivehead suggested, you may want to go with a few more lands. A 3:2 ratio seems to work best in the average deck.

Quick–go steal them and sell 'em on eBay, you could probably make a good bundle.

The maximum hand size is how many cards you can shuffle.

I thought about buying a deck with my Christmas money, but is it worth it? Or should I stick with Yu Gi Oh?

Ye Olde Bumpe.

Over the weekend, I got a M15 DBK and I split a M15 Booster Box with my friend!
I have far too many cards.
I got two planeswalkers, and I've built a black deck, and I'm gonna build a few more later.

I got Chandra, Pyromaster and Liliana Vess! Putting them in mono-red and mono-black, respectively.

I can have more than one Planeswalker in a deck, right?
