This was already suggested on Longarms, and a poll was done on it before you joined, and packages are planned to get implemented since most of the votes were “yes”. The only problem is, the person who's making the official post for the packages is Geo (our vice president), who is currently on leave until the 6th of September. And even that, Geo is a busy man, so I doubt he'll make it in the speed of lightning after that, so my suspicion is that packages will get implemented around mid-September, so we will have to be patient
