My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 84.0.4147.105, No Flash version detected

I believe this isn't a duplicate. When I scroll through lists, sometimes the highlighted entry disappears. I mean, like, if I click an entry, it becomes highligted. Then I use the arrow keys to move a few entries down or up or maybe a lot of entries down/up. If you just hold an arrow key down to scroll through everything, it's unable to keep up, starts flashing, and sometimes just quits. And then I have to click the list again.

I hope this makes sense. Can someone try it?

I tried it, but I am not getting the same result. Both in editor mode and view mode, when I select an item in the list, it neither flashes, nor deletes anything. What kind of project are you using? Is it big, small, and is there anything else running on that project? Also, are you in editor mode or viewer mode?

I don't mean when you select an item. I mean when the list is very long, and once you select an item, I hold the arrow key. If you hold the down arrow key, does it keep up? My projects are small and I have one tab open. Like normal, I can only select list entries in editor mode, so I'm in editor mode when this happens.

Interesting, I don't have that same issue, and I am using a 200000 item list and have 15 or so tabs open

I still have a lot of problems making lists. If you start a new list, and hold enter…

Like, I was trying to make a list with 128 entries. So I just held enter down until it reaches 128. But what happens is it flashes and the cursor moves all over the place, after just a few entries. This isn't a problem, but sometimes it just deselects the list entirely. (So the entries just stop and I have to click it again.) It becomes a problem when the list already has entries… because it skips around? It's really strange.

Like if you had a list with 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 as the entries and you wanted to add 128 between entry 4 and 5, I would select entry 4 and then just hold down enter. This used to work but now it isn't. Does this happen to anyone? I never used to have this problem before Scratch 3.

So another thing I need to point out, I'm working with a list that has 400 entries. I can scroll up by holding the up arrow and it moves completely normal. But I cannot scroll down by holding the down arrow. (As opposed to pressing it every other second, which stops the glitchiness, but takes too long…) If I scroll down, holding the down arrow, the highlighted entry cannot keep up, and when it hits the top the list flashes. And this happens again and again and sometimes it will jump to a random place in the list… which can cause a lot of problems if I don't notice it.

Does this not happen to anyone else? I know I can import and export lists from say an earlier version of Scratch, but still, I'm using the online editor, but this one part is just really odd.

I tested it, (my browser / operating system: Windows NT 2004, Edge 84.0.522.52, No Flash version detected) and I had 1 other tab open. It would scroll smoothly for a bit, then it will go down, hit the bottom, the list would flash white, then it would repeat. I added 400 items, and when I tried going up, it would go up stop, appear at the bottom and repeat, without flashing.
Edit: I had to manually input browser/operating system data

I'm not able to describe it very well but it sounds like it's happening the same to you

Bump – can anyone else try this?

Bump #2 – it doesn't happen if the lists are small. But if you drag them out so that they take up a large part of the screen, then this happens! I hope someone can help me. If you try to scroll through the entries in a list, often, it's unable to do so…

I'm using the exact same thing as you (ok fine I'm behind in versions a little) and it doesn't happen to me.
