Eliminating Necroposting
Support! This would be preeeety useful, it's not rare to get annoyed by necroposting. If this does get added, I think there should be a system like this:I disagree with the 1 day - 1 week. Otherwise, it's pretty good.1 day - 1 week inactivity = extra cooldown
1 week - 6 weeks inactivity = pop-up (like described in original post)
6 weeks - 6 month inactivity = alert
6 month - 1 year inactivity = extra cooldown, pop-up
1 year - 2 years inactivity = thread closed by bot, original poster can request to get it reopened.
2 years+ inactivity = thread closed by bot, original poster can not request to get it reopened.

Support! This would be preeeety useful, it's not rare to get annoyed by necroposting. If this does get added, I think there should be a system like this:I disagree. If no final decision has been made for the topic and the user that necro the topic thinks there can still be more, such as if a user asks for help, and it's been a year and a user still doesn't get a good answer, and then some answers and the topic is closed. This should not happen. What if a suggestion you wanted added has a topic and its old?1 day - 1 week inactivity = extra cooldown
1 week - 6 weeks inactivity = pop-up (like described in original post)

6 month - 1 year inactivity = extra cooldown, pop-up

Yeah, I really think the best solution is just a notice above the post or a popup.Support! This would be preeeety useful, it's not rare to get annoyed by necroposting. The time needed to make this pop up needs further discussion, evidently.
However, the base idea is great! Support!~~~~

This seems like a good idea. I think the amount of time for how long is too long is debatable, but the idea of a popup seems good, especially for scratchers who are new to the forums.
I hope this isn't a necropost.

Agreed!
Necroposting is allowed in Suggestions and TIRAP

Good idea. It's so annoying when you click on a topic, then find out it's from two years ago and someone reposted in it, and you tell them not to necropost, and technically you are necroposting too. ._.

I agree as you said it should only be a warning since it might be an interesting topic and you might just want to bump it.

Support, it saves the Scratch Team's time (and the times of other Scratchers because they don't have to report anything).
….Has a period of time been decided on when to give the pop-up? I've seen a lot of people saying 2 months, other people saying 2 weeks…
wow i've literally added nothing to the conversation yet this is not my most pathetic post

Support, it saves the Scratch Team's time (and the times of other Scratchers because they don't have to report anything).Right now I'm leaning towards 1-2 months, since the forums that are usually subject to necroposting (e.g. QaS and HwS) usually have topics resolved after less than that (a few weeks-ish).
