QUESTION ABOUT GIVING CREDIT
I've seen two types of giving credit on scratch.
1. uses it without asking and giving credit
2. asks to use it and give credit before using it and if the owner says yes, they use it, and if not, they don't use it.
So my question is, which one is ok? Or maybe both of them are ok. But I doubt it because if you ask the owner to use it and they say no then you can still use it. But then again if there is somebody that quit scratch that made something really good, you can't ask them to use it.
I would like an answer directly from the rules and not an opinion. I'm posting this because I can't find all the rules on Scratch (for example I recently discovered advertising is not allowed on other people's projects/profiles unless given permission, but that rule is not in the community guidelines, so I discovered it later when lots of people told me that's not allowed.)
EDIT: I also made this because I saw this really cool thing that gave inspiration for something, but they don't respond much so I'm wondering if I should just use it and give credit or something else.

ok. But in both situations they are both giving credit, so I want to know which one is the correct way.

QUESTION ABOUT GIVING CREDIT
Both are okay. If you share something on Scratch anyone can use it with credit. This is why suggestions to disable looking inside/remixing are rejected.

QUESTION ABOUT GIVING CREDIT
Both ways are perfectly OK. There is no need to ask for permission. If you do ask for permission and they say “no” in response, you are still allowed to remix the project or use those assets; after all, it's their fault they shared their project under the Creative Commons Share-Alike license. In fact, saying someone is not allowed to use your assets is actually something that should be reported.

If you want to share something, you must accept that someone might use something and give credit. You can do I've seen two types of giving credit on scratch.both, but since this user isn't very active, you can use it and give credit.

1 is OK.
2 is also OK.
Not giving credit, however, is not OK: with or without permission.

I'd say that you probably should ask first, but technically you don't need to.
It is common courtesy to ask someone before using something that they made, though.

QUESTION ABOUT GIVING CREDIT
Both are perfectly fine. If you share something on scratch people are free to use it but need to give credit. But it is polite to ask first.

QUESTION ABOUT GIVING CREDIT
Out of curiosity, is credit required to go in the “credits” section of a project or can it be included inside a game's menu for example.

QUESTION ABOUT GIVING CREDIT
I don't know if there's an official answer for this but I've seen a lot of projects that give credit at the end of the project and I think that should be fine. Please do make a new topic when you have a question and don't post on old topics.
