What's your desk/laptop?
Mine is custom built, I'm too lazy to type everything but it's a G4400 Pentium with a GT 1030 cause I play games on it. It will be upgraded later on when I decide to.

What's your desk/laptop?
Hahahaha I'm doing a relevant necropost (those are allowed right?)
I'm currently running
- AMD Ryzen 2700x
- MSI x470 Gaming Plus (I hate the x470 chipset for reasons I'll get in to later)
- Nvidia GTX 960 for Linux Host (Nvidia is bad)
- Zotac GTX 1070 Mini for Windows 10 Guest (Nvidia is bad)
- 11TBs of mechanical storage for Windows (one 4TB drive houses my Steam Library)
- 512GB M.2 NVMe SSDs as boot drives for both Linux Host and Windows 10 VM
- Some EVGA 650W Power Supply
- 32GB of RAM
Anyway as you can probably have read I run Windows 10 in a virtual machine “for fun” (that's how I lie to myself that it's worth doing it). It's Qemu-kvm and stuff, uses a virtual TPM so I can have BitLocker encryption. I use it to play games. I could've probably have used Linux for gaming but a certain company definitely not Facebook deciding that having the Oculus Rift support anything more than Windows is bad. Probably because it'd reveal how much telemetry they do.
My main host system runs Gentoo/Linux, it's a good firmware for anyone looking to softmod their space heater to run hotter and for longer. Portage is a fun package manager. My laptop also runs Gentoo.
As a window manager, I use resloved's fork of i3-gaps because rounded corners. Screenshot:
The background is some random screenshot from the first few minutes of Episode 9 of No Game No Life because the image has that monochromatic aesthetic.
Now I said I would talk about why I hate x470 and here is why.
Because virtualization, I need to passthrough some PCIe devices so Windows doesn't eat the CPU software rendering all the silly blur effects they've added now, which is fine. I also need some USB, but oh no! The x470 chipset doesn't do ACS so everything appears as one big blob of IOMMU. This is bad for many reasons, including the fact I need to do the naughty ACS override patches that make my Linux kernel smelly.
x570 doesn't have this problem as far as I can tell but I don't want to spend money on x570 because that wouldn't be in my best interests considering it doesn't give me any more SATA for more drives anyway.
I yearn for Threadripper but don't have the money for one of those.
If you look at the Screenshot it'll show 18GB of my RAM is being used. By what? Windows 10.
Yes I give it 16GB of RAM because apparently I hate having a usable computer.
What is Windows doing right now? Nothing. How much RAM is it eating? 6GB. Microsoft please fix.
Anyway back on to the topic of Desktop Systems, mine also doesn't have either side panel because those are bloat just like systemd and having GRUB as a bootloader /s
Oh yes I didn't mention that I run OpenRC Gentoo and used `efibootmgr` to set my boot records in the EFI, however I've decided that installing a program to manager your EFI boot records is bloated too and that using UEFI Shell v2 on an Arch install USB and it's built in `bcfg` command is clearly the solution to all of lives problems. (I had to do this with laptop because efibootmgr didn't work)
Ah yes my laptop also runs Gentoo.
I'm starting to sound like someone who thinks saying they use Gentoo makes them cool aren't I? Sorry, it's just I just very much love Gentoo. However your preference in distro may differ, and that's fine. Don't let anyone tell you the distro you run is bad. It's your computer, and one of Linux's made advantages is that you can choose pretty much anything. Wanna run Ubuntu / Pop_OS! and just have a working system? Go for it! Want systemd? Sure! Want some exotic script based init-system? You can do it! Linux is all about choice unlike Microsoft shoving Edge down people's throats.
The same is for window managers / desktop environments, I like i3-gaps with rounded corners but some people like i3-gaps without them and some people even don't like gaps and run normal i3. Others run GNOME or Plasma or other things.

What's your desk/laptop?
i too shall do the thing
i have a *gaming* laptop i found on amazon it practically overheats a lot and often i can't get playable FPS in Minecraft.
i wish i could go get all the fancy numbers but im in bed on my phone so this will have to do
1050ti
i5 something
8gb ram
then ive got my server that does serving things
i5 something
i paid for 8gb of ram and i got 4 so we had to negotiate with the seller to get money to get another 4
as for software, i have le windows 10 on both because I was silly and I didn't setup ubtuntu server on my server and now I suffer the consiquenses.
when i upgrade my laptop I'm going to probably look for desktop and then i can have an SSD for windoes and hard drive for files and an SSD for messing with Linux stuff because it sounds fun.
yeah that's pretty much it i wish i had a setup that could be wow to people but im fairly normal person so it's kinda boring lol

What's your desk/laptop?
Well I have a few desktops, my main would probably be my laptop which has been with me for around two to three years and it has:
And then for development I use a very old, but reliable, desktop with:
And finally my NAS which I use as a small personal/development server and NAS has:
I also have another server with the same specs except only 4 TB HDD that I'm trying to fix memory issues with (it's a DL360e G8 if anyone can help D: I'm worried it might be a bent CPU pin ) But once/if I get that up and running correctly it'll be the endpoint to some small web apps, experiments, and a small Minecraft game I've been developing
- i5-7300HQ
- GTX 1050
- 16 GB RAM
- 256 GB NVMe SSD
- 1 TB SATA SSD
- Use Windows for Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, and Games
And then for development I use a very old, but reliable, desktop with:
- i7-4770k
- GTX 1050 GPU (Use as main GPU for linux)
- RX 590 GPU (Use for Windows and MacOS virtualization)
- RX 580 GPU (Use for compute along with the 590 and use for virtualization sometimes)
(For the two above I use a 16 slot splitter - 32 GB RAM
- 256 GB SATA SSD with 4 TB of HDD and ~24 TB NAS (which just acts as cache to GSuite Unlimited Cloud which I'll get to later)
- Right now I'm using Gentoo as @ElsieBreeze convinced me to and I'm starting to like it more especially the OpenRC init system
And finally my NAS which I use as a small personal/development server and NAS has:
- 2x E5-2440 v2s
- 24 TB SAS HDD
- 128 GB RAM (Planning to upgrade to 384 GB later on, hopefully)
- Running Arch, was going to switch to Gentoo but just haven't been able to get to it due to work
I also have another server with the same specs except only 4 TB HDD that I'm trying to fix memory issues with (it's a DL360e G8 if anyone can help D: I'm worried it might be a bent CPU pin ) But once/if I get that up and running correctly it'll be the endpoint to some small web apps, experiments, and a small Minecraft game I've been developing

GSMArena says it has 8GB of internal storage, not 4MB. https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9190_galaxy_s4_mini-5375.phpYep! I know! I was jokong when I said it was good (:4mb?! I assume there may be modes that exist with only 4GB of Internal Storage, but that's still not 4MB.
My Galaxy Note 2 from a year before the S4 Mini has 16GB so I very much doubt it'd drop all the way to 4MB the next year

Good evening. I am a gerbil. Are you a gerbil? I know I am. Gerbils are possibly the most important beings in the universe; they are super intelligent and they eat carrots so we don't have to.
If you are reading this, you're probably thinking one of 3 things:
- This dude's not a gerbil, he's a pufferfish/human/bison/whatever other organism/inanimate object you mistakenly believe I am.
- Why am I reading this????????
- I'm hungry
The second one is a valid question, and one that has no satisfactory answer other than that you're really ,really, really bored.
As for the 3rd one - so am I. You're not alone.
