Trending page glitch
My browser / operating system: iPhone iOS 12.4.6, Safari 12.1.2, No Flash version detected
I’m not certain, but I believe resharing a project acts as a boost. For example, a project that gets 500 favs in a week, once it is reshared the website thinks it has gotten that attention as soon as it was reshared, and it will put the project on trending. This results in quality projects on the trending page getting replaced by those who spam the reshare the most.

Hmm. According to my knowledge, unsharing erases all data that would get you on Trending. Is there someone you know with the stats needed to replicate the glitch?

I think this works because Trending is based of of how many loves/favs/views the project gets in the day after it's shared, not how many loves/favs/views overall. Hmm. I think it's like this: Project shared. Projects gets 200 views in a day. Scratch detects this, and puts it on Trending. Projects get even more popular. Scratch starts a timer to prevent an project from being on Trending for too long. Project is still popular. Project Creator unshares and reshares the project. The system now thinks it is a new project. It detects that the project is viewed a lot right after it's shared, but doesn't know that this project was not the first time it was shared. The system thinks it's a new trend, while in reality it was already on trending, so the system resets said timer, then reputs it on trending. So, this is used as a way to keep said project on trending for as long as the project's creator wants.

This is definitely a thing. Many users are using it and explore is full of stolen/effortless projects. Some are even in the top 5. It's really unfair to people who actually work hard to get on explore.
