Can I link to Google Docs on Scratch?

Hello. I'm am working on an animated series and I made the voice actors scripts. But to show them the script I need to link to a google document. So can I link google docs on Scratch?

No. Unmoderated communication is possible through Google Documents, and this is dangerous for younger users.

No, as linking to unmoderated chat sites is against the Scratch Community Guidelines.

But what you can do is copy and paste the script into a forum post or project comment (the ones in the editor) and link the voice actors to that.

As the two said, you can post comments, and there is also a PM people can use between users. The best way is to share a project that has the script in it or have people download a text file using a file hosting site Mediafire

Absolutely NOT. In Google Docs there's unmoderated chat, PMing and sharing personal info, banned on Scratch. Linking to google docs is a bannable offense

Fun fact: everything above is only partially true.

There are settings which allow so that people with the link can only view, not edit or comment.
For instance: (removed by moderator – please don’t share links to Google Docs) should be perfectly fine

a workaround is taking screenshots of the scripts and filing the pictures into a sprite you've coded in a certain way.

So if I fix the settings then it's allowed?

That's fine, I'll just use projects to place scripts.

Very big NO. Google docs is undermoderated chat, and can be used to reveal personal info and email adresses. You could put it in the "Things I'm Making and Creating" forum and then link it to someone.

Sorry to bump a closed topic, but I just wanted to clarify that apple502j is correct. We don't allow any links to Google Drive, regardless of any “edit” permissions on the document. We don't have the resources to check that every single document meets our standards, especially considering that permissions can be changed. I believe requesting edit access is also a way to share personal information.

In particular, the aforementioned Google Doc shared by fdreerf is not okay to post on Scratch, despite the facts that the document was appropriate and outside viewers could not edit the document.
