You can edit posts, why not delete them?

What if the topic was resolved, or you made a mistake and some statements were false? You can edit your post, so I don't see any reason not to add a “Delete” button. Besides, you can just edit it and make it say “Post deleted”. So…

Well, if the topic was resolved, it's better to just close it, so that other people can learn. I thought there was a delete button for Scratchers…

No, actually, there isn't (hence my blanked post @ bharvey's thread about the infamous comic).

You can edit posts, why not delete them?

You used to be able to delete your posts after 24 hours. However, a glitch started where you could delete EVERYONE's post after 24 hours. Because of this, deletes have been disabled until they can fix this.
