The current avatar selection thing is really small and it is super stressful to try and find a picture to fit. I think scratch should make it bigger or make people have a choice whether they want the big avatar picture or the current one. Or they could have a medium one.

Scratch could also have a link when you press your avatar picture to go to your recent pictures so you can put them on again easily.

Also in that link, they could have an instant avatar creater were you can draw something there and then without hassle to be your profile.

Support for the instant avatar maker. It would also be cool if you had a selection of default images to use (featuring scratch cat, gobo, etc)

I don't see the hassle for finding a 500x500 or less image. Here is a workaround if your image is too small:
1. Upload the image in the Scratch editor
2. Convert to vector.
3. Select the mouse tool and make your image smaller.
4. Convert to bitamp and export.

for the size, maybe instead have a built in crop/position option

Do you mean recent profile pictures?

maybe they could have a selection of profile pictures already made, too
