MY MICROPHONE DOSNT WORK

so i made a series, and the only part left to do is mine. so i clicked record, and then i clicked allow. then, i clicked the circle thing and recorded my voice. i listened to the recording, all i could hear was weird very quiet static. my microphone works on every other website and program, except scratch. to fix it, i unplugged my microphone and plugged it in again, and the same thing happened!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when backdrop switches to [ MY MICROPHONE NOT WORK]   
say [I TRYED EVERYTHING]

when I receive [ I TRYED TO FIX IT,]
say [BUT IT DIDNT WORK.]
say [SO THEN I MADE THIS.]
play sound [ SADNESS]
ask [WHY IT NOT WORK?] and wait
add [BUT IT WORKS ON OTHER PROGRAMS AND WEBSITES!] to [  COMPLAINTS ABOUT MICROPHONE]

it does. the microphone works for everything BUT scratch.

Could you try it again, this time also on another website at about the same time you try it on Scratch?

Also, see if these directions help:

Here you go!

1. Open a new project.
2. Click the “Sounds” tab.
3. Click the button with the microphone. You will get a blank sound.
4. Click the red dot.
5. Then a window will pop up. Click “Allow”.
6. Record your sound.
7. When you are done, click the stop button! You are done!!!!
Please make sure you have a microphone before doing this.

If you are using Scratch online, the program the runs it, Adobe Flash, will ask you to confirm if you wish to allow Scratch to access your microphone or not. It will ask you this when you click the record button in the sound editor. The dialog box looks like this:

Click Allow; it may not work the first time clicked, so click it again. You will need to do this each time you want to record a sound or use a webcam.
If you don't want to do this each time, check out the download version of Scratch.

I'm not sure what is wrong with my mic. I have a mac. I clicked accept microphone and I recorded and stopped still doesnt play back sound and it doesn't show the soundwave things…
