If you are thinking “The brush tool is exactly the same,” it isn't. Because the brush tool makes shapes, while the pencil tool makes lines. You can see this if you draw with the brush then use the reshape tool on that line. I also loved the smooth feature.

If this has been suggested, tell me.

The line tool can only make straight lines between two points. The pencil tool used to be for drawing curved lines and scribbles and things like that.

line tool + reshape = pencil tool

or just, y'know, draw the shapes?

This is a good suggestion. Support. Even if you remove half the points in the brush tool, it's still different than pencil tool.

I think they mean “should we replace the brush tool with the pencil tool?”

Apparently, for a bit in 3.0's alpha development, the pencil tool existed, and worked exactly how it did in 2.0.

It doesn't look like it has the smooth feature, though. Weird. Maybe it didn't work well with the GUI they had or something. (I don't know anything about anything.)

Mega support. I miss the smooth feature and pencil tool. They were so useful!

i used to say no support because i was a biiiig dummy
but yeah i support now, i don't know why they would remove this.

the scratch team seems to have removed a few things for seemingly no reason, like the echo effect.
