Anime You May Not Have Tried (or heard of)

Paranoia Agent: This series is an odd mix of psychological horror and black comedy. It's made by the late Satoshi Kon who also made Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika, all of which you should really check out. Paranoia Agent is very confusing. The series is about a kid called “Little Slugger” who goes around whacking people with a baseball bat. Each episode has a new protagonist who goes insane because of the Little Slugger rumours. Each episode also has something satirical to say about media and social networking despite the fact that the series came out in 2001. The series has adult themes and nudity (though not in the fanservice way) so this one isn't for little kids.

Texnolyze: What did I just watch? If you like Serial Experiments Lain you'd really enjoy this. It's… hard to describe. This one also isn't for little kids considering how much violence there is.

Wolf's Rain: Wolf's Rain is depressing. Basically it's about a bunch of wolves looking for paradise in a dystopia. It aired on adult swim but I've never heard anyone talk about it, so here it is. The story is amazing and it's from the writer of Cowboy Bebop. If you plan to watch it bring tissues.

I'll do some more later

Well well well, Sword Art Online II has arrived recently. Hopefully this isn't as horrible as SAO 1.

Legally? Well you have Crunchyroll. You also have the entire Funimation library (subs only though). There's also Hulu.

HOWEVER, if you don't live in the US, you're pretty much screwed if you want to watch anime legally and don't have enough money to buy the DVD's/ no DVD player.

I'm back! So hopefully this thread will have a lot more activity.

I really haven't watched much anime lately, just Ghost Hunt at Anime Club and some Kill la Kill on Netflix.

Reading lots of manga though. I finally gave up on Negima at volume 14. I am officially bored with it. I hope Love Hina doesn't go the same route.

SAO was good for the first 15 episodes. Now it's bland, generic and just plain dumb.
I SAID IT.
COME AT ME FANBOYS!

Actually no don't pls.

Pls.

On another note, Noragami was awesome. Anyone else saw it, and wants to fangirl/fanboy over Yato? :3

He's so cute *.*

Shipping is a pain though. Sadly, I sometimes have to resort to illegal methods, since I will not watch dubs.
It's depressing, because the creators deserve money.

Shhhhh. Everyone has watched an anime without the creators getting money. But, since dubs are terrible, and usually cut out things, i get it sister.

I personally enjoy dubs and watch them if there is one, but as long as you're not the type of person who thinks dubs are basically the no 1 evil of this world and thinks anyone who disagrees with them is Hitler I'm fine with that.

Oh boy, if you got bored of Negima, you really will get bored of Love Hina. Imagine the beginning of Negima without the interesting fantasy world and that's basically Love Hina. That's just my opinion though. But you can tell if you will like Love Hina or not by reading the first volume. If you like the first volume, you will like Love Hina. If you don't you will dislike Love Hina.

Also, I'd recommend Hellsing and Yotsuba. Those are my favourite manga.

For the matter of dub and sub, it just really depends on what the anime is. I think Code Geass has an AMAZING dub and I'd watch it over sub any day. On the other hand, Attack on Titan is a lot better in sub in my opinion. I feel like the voice actors really put effort intro conveying the feels in that anime.

i'm probably not into anime as much as you guys are ( I mostly read manga ) But for some reason at school if I get seen reading a tiny bit of any manga, people assume that I'm the worlds biggest otaku or something. for some reason at school it's considered weird to read manga
