you get launched from space onto a planet like earth where you dig stuff up to make more stuff to find these weird big purple and black things, power them with cables that somehow match yours so that you can get to a bigger black and purple thing, get another black and purple thing, and fly to different planets trying to get those black and purple things, do some stuff with them at another black + purple thing above the sun. also none of the planets have any visible water and there's now a mode where you can just fly around and dig more stuff.
