Soooo, i recently remembered this one discussion board about how to get music files on scratch. a year ago, i tried this out. I looked up the mp3 player, followed the rules…and my old desktop got a virus. I freaked. any reason why? the discussion board was made in 2013-2015, so something might've happened?

Uh… You can't. Unless its a file from your computer your uploading, you cannot access youtube songs from it. There is no ‘downloadable program’. You need to be careful around the internet, that was an obvious lie. Also, don't worry about a virus, just get a decent virus blocker, I used to use bitdefender, if you wanna use that. But yeah, really do NOT download things unless its official or something.

Step 1: Copy the link on youtube

Step 2: Go to ytmp3.cc, paste the youtube music, and hit convert. When it's done, press download and select your download folder. Closeout of any new tabs opened as they could lead to viruses. Converters are not safe. I recommend using Malwarebytes they have a 7-day free premium trial and that gives you more than enough time to guarantee nothing will happen.

Step 3: Go to your scratch project, click on sounds, then choose a sound, and then upload the sound. Find your download folder, click on the file and then import. That should put the music in your project.

Then last time was most likely because you didn't have an adblocker. Although I recommend this site because it is less scummy than many, converter sites are usually plagued with viruses. I recommend installing an adblocker to keep yourself safe. There is, of course, a certain risk you have to take each time you do this.

If you'd like, there is the other option of sending me the YouTube link and I could convert it for you since I have a yearly plan for Malwarebytes. I could create a project with the sound, and then you could put the sound in your scratch backpack if you know how to do that.
