(Former name: The Super Mario Maker 1+2 Topic)



The Mario Maker 2 thread was shut down by Paddle, but since it was because it was getting off-topic, I think it's safe to make a new one.

Rules:
1. Keep this thread on topic. Only discussion of Mario Maker 1, Mario Maker 2, and Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS can be talked about.
2. No Toadette spam; that's what got the old thread closed down.
2a. No Toadette until you all grow up. Nobody seems to be able to talk about her without causing havoc.
3. No snipping. It's very annoying when you want to join in on a conversation and then you have to search through hundreds of pages to find the beginning.
4. If a quote chain is longer than 10 quotes, there must be a link to the very next post at the top.

Let's hope this thread survives.

I'm making a Mario Maker 2 game but it's probably going to be thrown into the ever expanding heap of things I haven't finished tbh.

I got the last post on the original thread before Paddle closed it so that's pretty cool.

Isn't this technically a Super Mario Maker 3 topic because 1 + 2 = 3?

In all seriousness, I think that there should be a type of block that the player can pass through but enemies and other parts can't, and also the other way around as a variant. That could be really useful. Oh and if you carry an object through one, it can pass through.

Possible uses:
Kaizo stuff (like for example you could grab a shell from a platform you can't stand on)
Locking an enemy into a place while you can go anywhere (or the other way round)
Probably more

I know bumpers exist but they are big and awkwardly shaped, not to mention bouncy. I want something that is 1 tile and isn't BOING BOING. Also, maybe a semisolid variant but I'm probably asking for too much with that.

Likely not. Seems like we could move away from the spam that was happening in that topic. I'm fine with this new topic being created. Let's hope that it can stay friendly and organized this time.

But they can just go back and read the older posts! It's not that hard, and it's what I do when I don't know what was snipped.

I don't see the point in not snipping 100-post conversations if you can barely read the first posts in the quote chain

Has anyone seen World Map Builder? It's a little website that lets you build world maps for your SMM2 levels.
