Whether or not she's a Mary Sue depends on what fandom she's being used for. If every character in the fandom is like that, then she's fine. In my opinion, if you only write fanfiction about her for yourself and never post it online, then whether or not she's a Mary Sue is not that much of a problem. I've made a lot of characters who one would consider a Mary Sue (they'd be considered that mostly for the reasons of having a tragic pasts, and/or are considerably powerful fighters in the present), but I've never shared any of them online so no one ever gives me grief for them. Does my OC count as a Mary Sue? She has purple hair with orange tips, blue eyes, pony/cat ears, and she is a secret shape-shifter. She can transform into a human, a robot, or a pony, but her true form is her pony form. Is she a dumb idea? I've been using her for a while but I'm building her character up. She is not in any fanfiction whatsoever. She is a different age in each form.
LOL, Mary Sues are so annoying. Usually my characters have tragic pasts, though.

I read a nessXlucas fanfiction (i happen to like yaoi) and it was sort of sad..
lucas had to move away from onett with claus, leaving ness (whom lucas was dating) and ninten (whom claus was dating) in the end. i almost actually cried and all i was thinking was “you ruined my otp with your sad garbage”
lucas and claus had moved to onett in the beginning and stuff happened with a idiotic popular girl who had a severe crush on ness and hated lucas for dating ness and things happened haha
how is that even possible
lucas is from the future (after eb)
and claus is the masked man

Yeah. A tragic past is kind of a hallmark Mary Sue trait, though.Whether or not she's a Mary Sue depends on what fandom she's being used for. Not that canon has ever stopped anyone. People will ship characters, even if it's virtually impossible for them to be together. People will also ship characters who have never met in canon, or those who are enemies in canon.I read a nessXlucas fanfiction (i happen to like yaoi) and it was sort of sad..

Pokémon fanfic needs OC's to function.
RedxGary yaoi gets really, really annoying, and AshxInsertFemalePartnerOrSelf-InsertOC is absolutely terrible.
However, with an original idea, you can be OK if you write it well, whether Silver turns into a Sylveon in a comedy oneshot, a girl picks up a Goomy and it turns out to be Lord Goomy, or Misty falls into a pit of Caterpies.
I'm working on a Pokémon fic called Carrie about a girl with strange powers who goes to a local high school as a small group of friends begin to suspect her as a witch…
Edit: Wait, is she a Mary Sue? Fanfic Spoilers below…
She's half Ditto, and anyone who gets her or her mother's cells into their bloodstream will get the same effect with a different Pokémon. The Pokémon influences their decisions and actions, and Carrie has blocked her Ditto-self's influence. Her mother is widowed, although it isn't mentioned much. Carrie is very cautious, secretive, after a certain point a bit scary, and lives under a personal raincloud. A creepy, mysterious personal raincloud. New or Sue?

Okay, for MLP, she sounds fine. Maybe tweak her a little bit so she doesn't get too powerful. I can't say for Mega Man because I'm not into it.She's used for the MLP fandom and the Mega Man fandom…..She's a multi-fandom OC but she doesn't have a tragic past.Whether or not she's a Mary Sue depends on what fandom she's being used for. If every character in the fandom is like that, then she's fine. In my opinion, if you only write fanfiction about her for yourself and never post it online, then whether or not she's a Mary Sue is not that much of a problem. EDIT: By the way, just felt like pointing out that tragic backstories don't automatically make a character a Mary Sue. That depends on why the creator decided to give the character such a backstory to begin with. Was the backstory used in order to promote character development, or was it simply to make people pity and/or sympathize with the character? If it's the former, then the character is most likely not a Mary Sue. If it's the latter, then that's when it becomes a problem.

Yeah, they're both excellent. Hermione/Legolas, as well as Harry/Legolas, are obnoxious, but I love Aragorn/Luna.It's a guilty pleasure of mine. Harry Potter has a lot of freedom if you know the plot extremely well, as with Lord of the Rings. However, one of my pet peeves is Mary Sue-ish Harry Potter OCs. Which is a kind of hypocritical when you see my old Fan Characters. Sooo… does anyone read Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings crossover fanfiction like me?

What're those? Fanfiction that is well-written nowadays is usually labeled as “lemon” or “smut” on AO3 and FFN.

Um…they're not things kids should be reading. Moving on…
I think I've found my primary fandom. My Gravity Falls fic has gotten 30+ reviews!

Well, um…keeping things appropriate for Scratch, they are stories about romance, with explicit material only people 18+ should read. Not going into further detail. Moving on.

Blue Sky is my absolute favorite, starring Wheatley (it's a Portal/Portal 2 fanfiction.) Thanks to it, I've now got the chorus of the song stuck in my head…
Because I watched an AMV animatic someone made for it.
Blue Sky is…well….Brazilliant. Read it.
Then, once you've read that, read the short one scene spin-off of it, Our Scars. I've been kind of obsessed with reading Chelley fluff lately, lol. I'm even writing my own Portal 2 fanfic.
Mister Blue Sky
Please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long, so long
Where did we go wrong?

I'm writing a Christmas Gravity Falls fanfic now. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be getting the level of popularity my other fics have yet.

The only good fanfic I read was better luck next time or something like that which was a gorillaz fanfic.
I do know that the first ever fanfic I read was a wall e fanfic about Wall e being dead and then EVE decides to… I can't mention. It wasn't really that good for a first.
