Requesting feedback and accuracy about my Localized Story

Hello translators of Scratch, I've recently made a proof-of-concept project with a Localized Story. In it, changing Scratch's language will change what the characters say in that language. And you can also press the down arrow to set a custom language. Please let me know if you think the project is good and maybe should be adapted to some other forms?

I gave it a try in Gàidhlig and I can't read the sentences, because it's going way too fast, and I am a very fast reader The speed should be at least halved. You could also make the speed dynamic according to the length of the translated string.

I did notice some weirdness in the translation, but that's because Google Translate is not viable for Gàidhlig yet.

Thanks for the feedback on my project! Some things to address here:

* I tried it in Gaidhlig and I could read it fine. I couldn't understand it since i don't speak Gaidhlig but i could clearly see all the letters. I also tried in english and understood it fine.

* The dynamic length of a string may be interesting except that i'm pretty sure it varies by the speed of the reader and not by language, since none of them are “too long letters” (chinese may be too short letters though, so they'd be waiting around for a while). It may be interesting to see though, like maybe a tenth of a second for every letter there is in there?

* As for whether Google Translate is not ready for Gaidhlig yet, why is it being offered as an option then? I understand things can't be made instantly but a release build of Scratch shouldn't have incomplete features right?

Still appreciate you for trying out my project though and some good features and info anyone else should know if they decide to make a project like this

I can see the strings just fine too, but I can't read them in the time allotted. It's going far too fast. Gàidlig uses more letters than English, so it takes more time to read them.

That sounds like a good starting point. To find out how long it needs to be, we'll have to test it with few languages and keep in mind that some people will read more slowly than we do.

I opened a bug about this on GitHub and asked for the language to be removed from the Google Translate block, but the issue was closed as “too emotional” and nothing was done as a result. I didn't open a new issue becuase I sometime get tired of playing Don Quixote.

There is a reson the quality is still bad for Gàidhlig, machine translation is very hard and there isn't enough data available to train Google Translate to do it poperly.
