No support.
Sometimes people disable comments on their projects for a reason, like if they get a ton of comments from one project each day and decide they don't want comments from that project to drown out the rest of their messages.

Like Starstriker3000 said, people disable comments for a reason. Wether they are getting too many comments on their profile or project, because they don't want people talking to them, or whatever reason they have, they should be able to turn off comments.

While this would allow more freedom of speech, it also could hurt someone's privacy or distract them.

you should see some of the responses to suggestions made 5 or more years ago. a lot of the posts were people saying “+1” (not even just support/no support) and these are coming from well known and respected scratchers in the community at the time

Like many of the other suggestions that the OP has made, I think they have some personal goal in mind that they wish they could reach, but have been unable to due to a feature in Scratch, so they decide to write a topic on suggestions asking to change that feature so they can more easily achieve what they want to do. You have discussed about this in some of their other topics where it was quite obvious that it was what they were doing.

Anyway, No Support because there are legitimate reasons for disabling comments for projects and user profiles (ton of messages, not wanting conversations in their profile/project, going on a trip and wanting to keep their message count a bit lower etc.)

I disagree. They are there for a reason you know. For instance, too much disrespectful comments, the user might be way too busy, or the user is getting tons of messages.

No support, and pretty much everyone agrees with that, so why dont we just report this to be closed?

No Support. There are many reasons to disable comments:
  1. An user can go to vacation so he can disable comments after writing an announcement so he/she can prevent spams
  2. An user can be inactive for a while so she/he can disable comments for preventing comment raid
  3. An user can get bad comments so she/he can disable comments and then contact ST while not getting bad comments.
  4. An user can decide to delete her/his account so she/he can disable comments and prevents them before account be deleted.

Sorry, no. As stated in previous posts, there are good reasons why a Scratcher might want to turn off comments - and we feel that they should have that option.
