So, could you help me find a way to time travel to the past that works for real? Not a fake one.
I've heard if you go faster than light, you would go back in time.
I found that out a long time ago! But how can we beat the speed of light?
We can't.
Well, even if you did break the speed of light even a small dust particle might rip a hole through your body, and the wind resistance .would rip apart you or anything else that is taking you there XD

Let me quote this thing from an old What if xkcd I read a few years ago:

What If? xkcd wrote:

The ideas of aerodynamics don’t apply here. Normally, air would flow around anything moving through it. But the air molecules in front of this [human] don’t have time to be jostled out of the way. The [human] smacks into them so hard that the atoms in the air molecules actually fuse with the atoms in the [human's] surface. Each collision releases a burst of gamma rays and scattered particles.
These gamma rays and debris expand outward in a bubble centered on the pitcher’s mound. They start to tear apart the molecules in the air, ripping the electrons from the nuclei and turning the air in the stadium into an expanding bubble of incandescent plasma. The wall of this bubble approaches the batter at about the speed of light—only slightly ahead of the [human] itself.
Basically if a person was travelling even a fraction of the speed of light, it'd look like a nuclear weapon had just exploded, and it'd take a tiny fraction of a second for all that to happen.
So yeah

If you went back in time and changed something, then that thing would already be changed and thus there would be no reason to go back in time. Oh, and you'd no longer exist. So that's a fun bonus.

Don't forget Lorentz (I think I spelled that right?) contraction, and the fact that the human would eventually reach their Schwarzschild radius, and turn into a black hole. Yeah.

Nah you turn into “spaghetti” if you go into one.
black holes are mass, not a real hole

I have a working time machine, but I'll only let you use it if you send me $10,000

Attention, all scientific gamers. megaman100 needs your help. To do some wacky time travelling shenanigans, they need to get a time machine. However, they don't have one right now. To travel through time, they need your credit card number, the three numbers on the back, and the expiration date. With that, they can invent a time machine and do a time travel. But hurry, they don't have much time.

edit/note: this is a meme don't actually give that to anyone that's a really bad idea

Um, noooo, that would steal someone's credit card info and be able to anyone who saw it to use to rack up potentially MILLIONS in fraudulent charges. Nope

That's a common meme that's a bit stale at this point, but still amusing. Have you not yet seen it?

Per my response on bybb all those aeons ago,

'Twould be a simple case of requiring the acquisition of a metric boat-tonne of energy, hopefully pure electrons. Once one has acquired these, make half is to positrons and put them in a different bin. You now how the purest and most concentrate form of matter (electrons) and anti-matter (positrons), the explosion of light from reacting these could - possibly - be higher than the energy you started with, due to a quirk of anti-matter and matter's volatile reaction. Doing this enough will yield with you now having a metric boat-tonne of energy. But what do we do now?

Well, ‘tis a simply case of mere physics. Atoms tend to hold on to what they are and where they came from (see Kurzgesagt’s video on `Information`). With this much energy, (and some nano-bots) you could engulf a good portion of the galaxy in nano-bots fuelled perpetually via the cyclical reaction of energy -> anti-energy -> more energy. These nanobots would read the information encoded within the incarnation of the atoms themselves, and move them using electron beams.

Only the Galaxy really needs to be rolled back. Remember to ensure nanobots don't undo themselves, your brain (just shrink it), or your time control device.

Way to go back in time that really works

Hey, heres my 2-cents:

Technically you'd rip the universe to pieces. If you were to find a way to go back, because you wanted to fix your mistakes, you would than have changed your past and never would've made those mistakes and you would never go on to create time travel. But if you didn't create time travel you wouldn't have fixed your mistakes so you would create time travel…… on and on and on in a constant loop that would tear apart time and space and kill us all… lovely right? I thought so.

They have predicted ways that you can SEE your past but not actually be there (not talking video taping here lol). If you were to go faster than light, and traveled 1 light year for every year you'd like to see back away from earth and used an ultra telescope to look back to earth, you, theoretically, would see yourself making the mistake. This is possible, theoretically, because the light of you making the mistake, the light of everything existing is traveling in every direction infinitely. Though at this point you'd just be sitting there, zillions of dollars in debt, watching yourself do the very thing you can't stop. So again no, you can't change the past, but you can see it!

Than again there is another theory that if you were to change your past you would, instead of ripping time and space, create another dimension and timeline that would create a whole different set of choices. But there still would be one version of you where you couldn't change the timeline and are thinking of how to change it. With this theory though, it can lead to some questions. Maybe you did find a way to time travel? Maybe you did change your past? Maybe you did split time and create a whole new dimension of time and space where you didn't do that? And maybe you could be the version that didn't change the mistakes and are looking for a way to, though never to be found, because every time you do you just split time again. And the loop continues because now theres a version that couldn't create the time travel and maybe thats you. THE TWILIGHT ZONE!!!! But again just a theory.

And then theres the most popular theory of time travel. You Can't. Might as well go with this one… Unless you want to rip time, spend millions, or create dimensions.

Anyways thats my little tip into time travel. If you couldn't tell I'm bored trying to advertise my game (In my sig below), though an epic failure of advertisement, and sitting around answering random questions… if you have anymore just ask, I've got theories on everything lol.

-Alex - PigChop Gaming & ASEMAZING
That is extremely complex and confusing……..but I think I understand it.

You can't go back in time. At least there is one way…..but you have to go through a black hole and I would NOT recommend doing that.

That's assuming black holes even allow that. It's entirely possible they're just super-dense balls of matter so massive they're gravitational field strength's pull exceeds the speed of light beyond the event horizon. This would mean that going near a black hole would simply rip you atom from atom, breaking bonds between atoms within molecules and those atoms will be pulled in to the black holes supermassive ball of matter and then you're dead and there's nothing left.
