How can I send a message privately?
I want to send a message to someone secretly, but I don't know how. If I comment, everyone else can see. If I send a link to a forum, still everyone else will press it. So how do I send a message secretly?

How can I send a message privately?
There is no way to privately send messages on Scratch, and the Scratch Team has no plans on adding anything like that. The best thing you could do is comment on their profile.

It's not a problem if everyone can see a topic anyways. Topics aren't “private” anyways.

Yeah… Isn't the whole “you can't delete other people's comments on studios” thing because of that?

Sorry, you can't, and adding a way to do so has been rejected many times.

The closest thing to private messaging is typing your message in this
The result will be this:
Quote this post to read it.
But, that is not completely private, anyone can quote it.

But then people can still see it, and it's not private. There is no such thing and will never be such thing as “private messaging” on Scratch, mainly due to moderation issues. The closest thing to private messaging is typing your message in thisThe result will be this:[Your message]

Maybe don't make it explicit that your post has a secret message; use a code phrase set up between you and another Scratcher to indicate that your post has a secret message. But don't do that actually. The closest thing to private messaging is typing your message in thisThe result will be this:[Your message]

There's a rule against using ciphers for private messaging?
ifmmp
That's an 1 step advanced cipher for “hello”

Guys. Don't confuse “hiding a message” and “private messaging”. The user is asking if there is a way to privately message someone, not if there is a way to hide a message. And no, there is no way to privately message someone.

How can I send a message privately?
I'm just going to say, most likely no one will care to press the ‘expand convo’ button on profile comments, so just comment on people's profile and as long as they don't have like 10, 000 followers your comment won't be seen. I want to send a message to someone secretly, but I don't know how. If I comment, everyone else can see. If I send a link to a forum, still everyone else will press it. So how do I send a message secretly?
TL; DR: No one cares about your comments enough to see them.

Please don't write in a transparent text; not everyone knows that this is a feature, and you may get and alert for unintentional spam. You can already do this.
Oof, didn't read all the previous posts to understand why you said that - my bad.
OP, to answer your question, there is no way to do this, due to the fact that it is very hard to monitor. If you want to talk to other Scratchers, comment on their profile/studio/project.

I guess that's the point: unless you know the person in real life, you probably shouldn't communicate with the user privately. That has some risks and liabilities that the Scratch Team would rather not take. You're not allowed to share email addresses on Scratch.. use gmail bud

You can ask them to register on another website that allows private chat.

That isn't allowed either.
