I know that you aren't allowed to use username blocks to blacklist a player, but what about whitelisting a player?

I know it's unfair, but I couldn't find anything in the community guidelines that said anything against it. You might whitelist someone for a reason, like if they followed you or if they are your best friend.

I haven't really used username blocks to whitelist or blacklist someone, and I don't think I will, but I'm just dying to know if it's allowed!

Legal in terms of law enforcement. The police won't come and breach your house.

I don't think this would be allowed, either. It seems unfair, however you can always go into the code and give yourself admin anyway.

I think it would be alright in some cases. For example, if you wanted to let some people beta test or give someone special control with cloud data.

It would also probably be ok to do something special when one of your friends played. Just keep in mind that anyone can see it by clicking see inside and changing a bit of code.

It probably wouldn't be ok if you required people to do something however (e.g. loving your project) in order to be whitelisted.

Only allowing your followers to play probably isn't a good idea. However, it could be ok for something things like a project celebrating 100 followers displaying “Thanks for following me!” to anyone in a 100 follower list.

It really depends on the situation I guess.

I did that once, that you should order a form to become a VIP and give a code in a special studio to become one. Then you could use admin commands. I think it is allowed.

• Allowing only people who have loved / favorited the project to view it.
  
  
• Allowing only people who have followed you to view it.
  
  
• Excluding certain Scratchers out of malice (e.g. “Everyone can view except for @Scratcher because he's mean”).
  
  
• Using a cloud chat to private message a certain Scratcher.
  

I'd say that, in essence, a majority of the project should be the same no matter what user is viewing the project.

It's only a necropost if it has been one month since the last post. If it has only been 6 days, it isn't.

I think you can use it to make “accounts”, i.e. storing people's usernames and passwords (encrypted, of course) in a cloud variable, which is fair. It means that you can save save codes online.

Special save codes and all that stuff are allowed — but there are conditions on blacklisting a player. Here is a post from the ST considering these conditions:

No, there is no specific time for how long ago a topic has last been posted on for it to be considered a necropost. Necroposts don't apply in this forum anyways, as long as the post that bumped the thread is constructive and adds to the discussion.
