Rankware Programming

Hey guys! Here's the rework for Rankware! Rankware is a place where we together program amazing games/simulators for everyone to enjoy! This will be kept as a small collab so everyone will continue to work efficiently.We do projects usually based on votes so everyone has a say. Each person has separate jobs to do what they are best at!Also, we help personal users (mostly in the collab)* with their projects.

*Note: we may start to help other scratchers but this is still starting up, and the collab will find it place naturally (In no particular order)
Owners- OPEN (must have experience In Rankware/Delta)

*By the way, the “/” means “or,” so you don't have to be in both collabs. Relax!

No one yet!

P.S.- If I forgot your name, don't worry! just tell me and I shall add it.

You may not get a notification for a updated post in this collab. Make sure it check it ever so often! Thanks!

Un-following then re-following seems to work too, so try that!

Just fill out this form, and you will be accepted if it was good:
1. What are your strengths? (1-3){Programming, Artist, Sound, etc.}
2. How good are you at the strenghts?(based on ten){9/10, 8/10, 8/10, etc}
3. How active are you on scratch?(based on ten){8/10}
4. What is your best project?{insert link here}
5. Follow this discussion.(Follow it to know when you are hired)
6. Have read the rules and accepted the rules of Delta?{Yes}

And that's it!

Rankware's Policies
If we make a project…
1) We write algorithms/scripts in our own text documents in psudo code. This means writing out the algorithms/scripts in english with words representing variable names and phrases representing blocks. People used to typed code will know what i mean.
2) We use rankware platform to allocate time slots to implementing algorithms (on the project on the shared rankware account)
3) We decide what algorithms to make using a modular design flowchart of the project. This will be made before any coding, and can be edited while we think of new ideas. This will be a sort of flow chart with layers. Layer one is the game. Layer two might include graphics and code. Layer three might be where code splits into the sprites that would use it. Layer four might be where sprites individual code splits into tasks specific to the proejct. Trust me, we need this diagram if we are to ever make anything.
4) We agree on new parts of the flowchart, instead of just one person making parts on their own.
5) We have the rank system we tried to make before, this time you get points for completing a script (writen in psudo code) that does one of the lowest divisions of task on the modular design flowchart, and then submitting the text (file).
6) Rank determines how influencial you are over editing the modular design flowchart (e.g. three level1 people would have to agree on something for it to be added, but only one level5 person).

The modular design flowchart can be designed in the scratch image editor, and when one costume fills up, you grab one of the lowest divisions and copy it over to its own costume and then continue dividing up on that costume\

Roles for each rank

Owners
-can accept people into collab
-can start new projects
and everything else below…

Leader
-can start a new project with the consent of an owner
-can request people to join
and everything else below…

Director
-can report and set Scratchers to work on a project (be reasonable)
and everything else below…

Power Thunder
-Can manage more parts of code
and everything else below…

Thunderling
-Welcome to the team!

BTW, I will make more policies as we go on. We have not decided exactly who does what because we need some more people to start this off, so i am definitely sure each rank will get more privileges. Don't worry!

-Letsplayally

“ANYONE CAN DO ANYTHING, THERE IS NO GO SIGNAL”

-We are still starting up and trying to get this organized, so we need some people!
-Logo
-Also tell your friends about Rankware and encourage them to join!
-Fix the planner!

set [x] to (join [Scratch On...] [with Delta Lightning!])

Note: Many of the Scratchers who applied are dead, so don't feel too intimidated. If their name is not on the member list, then they are not in the collab.

I'm part of the collab Rankware Programming, see http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/42888 for details.

I don't really know if I want to join Rankware, but here it is:
1. What job would you like to have? (1-3 jobs)
{Artist, Sound}
2. How good are you at the jobs?(based on ten)
{9/10, 7/10 but not sure}
3. How active are you on scratch?(based on ten)
{8/10 ish}
4. What is your best project?
{i dont have an absolute best, but http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/12584972/ is the most popular, http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/14874297/ is, in my opinion, just as good and has better artwork/design, but if you go for one only, choose the second}

Anything you want me working on as Artist? Also, I need some help with my latest game scratch conquest http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23806515/ as in a decent story line to go with it. The game involves having two players each with half of a map (not a real world map though), with a certain number of cities, industries and stables (same for each team). Each team will have to train units and send them across the map to enemy units, using flanking and other strategies to gain an advantage and win. Without a story, the game would be a bit odd, and I can't come up with any decent story yet. I was thinking on the lines of some kind of conflict between groups in Scratch, although they would have to be quite powerful and have an entire nation!

Ok we will start a project soon. When I get some helpers, they can help you. If not. I will

We have a pretty good team now; two artists, a sounds producer and a programmer! I don't suppose my current invasion game project could be a project for us to work on for now? http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23806515/
I'm going to be the one doing most of the art for it, but if anyone can draw up some good stables or factories for the game that would help a lot! I will help with others' projects as well as mine just to let you know, so if anyone needs art just ask.

I'm sorry, but I'm thinking of leaving Rankware Programming, because nothing is really happening, and I haven't received any help at all with my project. Also, nothing has come up for me to work on apart from my own stuff. I will stay though, but I will probably be most active in another group until Rankware starts up properly. Sorry
