I hope it’s okay that I’m putting this all in one forum, I think it could be considered spamming if I created individual forums for each emoticon.


I feel like the current selection of emoticons/emojis isn’t very good, and there’s some other emoticons/emojis that would be very necessary.

Here’s a few:

Clap emoticon, for if somebody wanted to applaud someone for what they did.

Cat based emoticons, since c’mon who doesn’t like cats? (Basically the regular ones but the faces are cats)

A kumquat, due to the “Evil kumquat” joke. (That’d be good as a regular scratch emoji, actually)

All of the scratch mascots, this should be self explanatory.

A few animated ones, like a person laughing with tears coming out due to laughing so much.

Also, while on this topic, I believe that the Scratch team should remake the emojis/emoticons. They look very dated and not very modern. Sure they’re okay-ish, but I believe they should be redrawn. Perhaps they should have modes for different emoji styles?

I guess it would be neat to have more emojis, but then again, we could bring up the excuse that there would be more emojispam. Support for a kumquat emoji, but that would be it. We don't really need much more emojis to express ourselves. In fact, in this whole thread, not one single emoji has been used. No support for other emojis, we don't really need them and aren't really necessary.

Support, iPad emojis are * in the forums.
