I created two studios for my classes. When I try to invite students using their usernames, I get a message telling me that I don't have permission to do that. I've deleted and recreated the studios to no avail. This worked great the past two grading quarters, but this time it's not.

The message “You don't have permission to do that” pops up for me when the username does not exist. Try checking if it is valid via http://scratch.mit.edu/users/<username>.

Also, if the user is new and has not confirmed his/her email, then you will also get this message saying “You don't have permission”

Here are the steps for email confirmation :

1. After account registration go to your email inbox and check for email from no-reply@scratch.mit.edu
If you can't find that email, try the spam/junk folder

2. Click on the link inside the email. This should be enough to let the new user be a curator.

I understand what you are saying. This must have changed since last semester because students could verify before through the message system in Scratch itself. Our issue is that our student e-mail is set up so that students can only e-mail or receive e-mail from others in our domain. We can add exceptions though and we added @scratch.mit.edu as an exception, but it still didn't work. Any other suggestions? We're also checking further on our end.

Try whitelisting mandrillapp.com and see if it works.

Hmmm I've had that problem. I think you need to confirm the email to make it work

i think because they are new scratchers so we can't add.

e.g.
I have a follower called @Mondo099, he's a new scratcher. Then, I can't add him into my Fan Club.
