Ideas for the copy paste method!
I don't know if this has been suggested before (and -Accio-, if you report this too, I will be REALLY mad!), and I just think this would be helpful for anyone who is using scratch across multiple tabs, and I also don't know if this is already a feature. The idea, short and to the point, is for the Copy/Paste of costumes be able to be transferred across multiple tabs. Basically, you copy from one tab, and paste to the other. BUT, to avoid art theft, you can only do it with your own projects!

No support, just use the backpack.

It just ticks me off when people report me

The backpack is the issue here. It's just not as flexible or intuitive as the 2.0 backpack.

If your topic was reported for being a duplicate, you're not really in trouble. The ST just wants one topic per suggestion so all the discussion is in one place.

As far as I know, there's no difference between both backpacks except for the occasional error in the 3.0 backpack (which is expected, as Scratch 3.0 is still in its development phase).

No support, just use the backpack. No support because of this. ^
I disagree. I think it's far better as you can backpack something in a project on one tab, and get it in another project in another tab.No support, just use the backpack.

Weak support.
I've changed my decision because I didn't closely read what it was you were suggesting. It is a little surprising to see that such a feature does not currently exist. It would make sense if it did exist, so if the Scratch Team was able to put this in, it could help.
However, as others have noted, the backpack mostly does what you're looking for. They've changed it in 3.0. Just drag something into the backpack, go to a different tab, close and reopen the backpack on that tab, and then the backpack will be refreshed. The suggestion provided is a little specific, and I'm not sure that others would immediately think to use it. The backpack is a good workaround for now.
Also, it's generally not a good idea to name some user explicitly and shame them for something they did (that's called “naming and shaming”). Regardless of if that user deserves to be reprimanded or not, naming and shaming just creates further unneeded drama on the website.

The Scratch Team worked hard to create the backpack tool for 3.0, and it's actually quite good. It's clean (if you clean it up lol), and it's easy to navigate.
The backpack tool does exactly what you're looking for.
Also, please don't “name and shame” a particular user publicly for something they did to upset you. Remember, if there is a problem, you can always report the user or use "Contact Us".

As other users have stated, just use the backpack instead.
