You need to be a Scratcher to use cloud variables, even when programming and when using it. To be a Scratcher, you need to be active, and make some projects.

Resolution is 1920*1080 and screen zoom is 100%. Have tried on several browsers and accounts. Bit of a shame the editor is that small as I mostly use scratch for artwork.

Many people have reported problems saving in the editor. If you are having trouble saving right now, it’s possible that our servers are down temporarily. It might also be because you recently uploaded or edited audio files. Sorry that you are having trouble! We are doing our best to address this urgent issue quickly.

What you can do to not lose your work is to click “File > Save to your computer” in the editor. Make sure you keep track of where it saves to on your computer.

I’m having trouble with recorded/uploaded sounds.
as of 1/09/19
Recorded, uploaded, and edited audio files are causing a number of problems, including:

• preventing Scratch from saving

• crashing the editor

• producing glitchy or garbled sound

• not uploading properly into or out of backpack

• being unresponsive or freezing Scratch when you try to trim sounds

These issues seem related to the audio file being too big. We've noticed these problems in the web editor and also in the Desktop editor. We are hoping to fix this soon!

Indeed.

• Can't trim MP3s or WAVs like in 2.0 where you can select specific parts of the sound and cut it, paste another song or delete it. 2.0 was amazing for making audio for simple YouTube Poops!
  

• Projects are slow and laggy in mobile. Turbo mode doesn't really help, and it's twice as slow as a computer project. Also the sprites are either too small or too big!
  

• Can't add labels such as “music,” “text-to-speech”, “games,” etc
  

• ALSO, why do I have to wait a WHOLE MINUTE just to post into a forum?!
  

• some projects don't load at all on mobile
  

• BOI there is NO SOUND on mobile

I figured out a temporary fix for the long audio clips causing save problems; duplicate the audio while you save and it may work. It just worked for me, so if this is not a universal fix, I'd like to know! The files do have to be MP3 though.
