Summer Goals
Most of my geometry consisted of memorizing theorems and postulates. It got pretty boring.DITTO. I find graphing things like translations of triangles tedious and irritating. I like computational math and things you can apply elsewhere (then again, don't we all hate the basics?) See, I would probably enjoy it a lot more if the instructor had the time to have us work out examples that really use elsewhere (and I don't mean finding the minimum amount of cans of paint you need to cover X-surface area), like programming, for instance.Ugh, Geometry. I'm more of an Algebra lover.O_o All of geometry? Sounds hard. I want to finish differential calculus.
Your goal should be to learn the next level of math, relative to where you're at. I suggest Khan Academy.
Actually, though, that sounds kind of fun.
Also, I once tried Kahn Academy. I think the videos are the best part (which will be great for learning everything!)
I think I'll try to make it through the first 30% of the book instead.
As for geometry being hard, when I took the course, I found it a lot more simple than algebra; if you understand the preceding algebra course, geometry just applies those concepts to shapes and graphs.

Blah. I hate that stuff. Most of my geometry consisted of memorizing theorems and postulates. It got pretty boring.

My algebra teacher does Geometry, too. His final words to us (on the last day of school) were this: “Next year you are going to hate my guts. Believe me.” Proofs… ugh.
I can't wait!

My goal is to get a well-paying summer job so I can have some extra money to use toward my college expenses. I could definitely use more work experience and exposure to sunlight. xP

My goal is to not overheat! Just kidding, I want to learn a programming language. However it must be easy-to-learn, uncommon, yet slightly powerful! Any suggestions? BTW, I'm, um, somewhere between 10 and 13, so, one easy for a 10-13 year old to understand.

I started Java when I was 13, but it's a bit on the difficult side. I'd recommend learning Python, it's pretty easy to understand as a beginning language and will help you get the concepts down, but just know that it has unconventional syntax, so it's mostly good to begin to think like a programmer. The code style however will be very different in languages like C or Java. My goal is to not overheat! Just kidding, I want to learn a programming language. Thanks! Any suggested sites besides CodeAcademy (Bad experience)?I started Java when I was 13, but it's a bit on the difficult side. Personally, I find I learn best “on the go”. By that, I mean that I come up with a project I want to make. Then I check around and find a language that seems suitable. Then I fall into a look up, copy, paste, repeat kind of routine. Eventually, you get so tired of looking up how to do Thanks! Any suggested sites besides CodeAcademy (Bad experience)?x thing again and again that you just memorize it. It's kind of painful at first, but once you get into it, it works pretty well.
As to getting your “on the go” questions answered, a quick google search will work. Stackoverflow often has the best answers.
Good luck!

We spent WEEKS on them and only got ONE on the exam. I don't necessarily /mind/ proofs; I just find them tedious and a pain for homework (I have issues with using multiple sheets of paper for homework for some obscure reason). Proofs… ugh.
What would be nice is the ability to blend computers and math class in that we can use tablets or something to do our work. No huge space issues, erasing isn't a problem, and graphs look a lot neater. It's basically fantasy considering the cost (and the fact that people seem inept at computer usage at my school despite how long they seem to spend on their phones), but a guy can dream…
