What makes it so that the forums are still here on uploads.scratch.mit.edu?

As of when I'm typing this, the forums are experiencing problems and are down. But when going on https://uploads.scratch.mit.edu/discuss , they seem to be perfectly functional. What makes it so that we are still able to post here?

I think this might be backed-up on a separate server or something. Just like how the 2.0 editor can be accessed here…

Have you seen this comment chain yet? https://scratch.mit.edu/users/_nix/#comments-56336885

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.

It used to be accessible here, but not anymore

Yes, and it's still ongoing. (Since when could we be discussing irrelevant things on the forums?)

I have about 3450 posts, 90 shared projects, 180 total created/followed topics, and 425 followers.

Yes, but only at a glance. It had something to do with cache I think.

These pieces of caching evidence may be helpful…

Post this here https://uploads.scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/346800 , I think you've made a discovery. Previously we thought they pointed to the same file.

No offence, but you've seen someone use the word caching, and now you're going to use it everywhere without actually knowing what it means, right?
As I've said, the forums being down isn't a cache issue.

That may be another possible cause for the unavailable forums problem.

I have about 3450 posts, 90 shared projects, 180 total created/followed topics, and 425 followers.

Don't worry about it if you don't understand what it is.

To me, it seems like the server that the forums are on is maybe down?

Yes, which is the most likely reason for this problem.

I have about 3450 posts, 90 shared projects, 180 total created/followed topics, and 425 followers.

Nope

it's just that uploads.scratch.mit.edu and scratch.mit.edu have different IP addresses.

Actually, yes, nvm. This is possible. Scratch has 4 IP addresses after all.
