idk if it's just me but were the cabin order in the main studio's desc rearranged to greatest points to least? bc i remember real-fi, sci-fi, and hi-fi were near the top w/ dystopian and now thriller and real-fi are there and they have the most.
Yeah lol I did it because I thought it might be a little helpful for some people. From now on I’ll probably rearrange it every two or three days (unless there’s a complaint against that)

Yeah, that dystopian comment was probably me and I checked the activity, and today's activity is different than the one that I was adding points for yesterday

that must mean that a lot of people got added with 600 points from various cabins… should we just leave it be and make an anouncment to leaders so that if they clearly remember more to one cabin we can take it off?

What music do you guys like to listen to while you write, if any?

I've found through experimentation that I can listen to music with lyrics while I write- sometimes just instrument music isn't “emotional” enough for me to write with. Recently I've been listening to Owl City for most of my writing since it's not super intense and the lyrics are so random at times, though when I want to write something really emotional I'll usually switch to a playlist I have of random sad songs. I even have a few playlists of songs my characters would listen to if I really want to get into character for writing. One character I have only listens to Panic!, TOP, and Fall Out Boy, while another prefers Dodie, Grace Vanderwaal, and Ed Sheeran. Sometimes my own character's music taste bothers me but it actually helps get into characters. XD

We're pretty sure the points weren't updated at one point, but the activity was. Either way, some people got 600 points when they should have gotten 400.

If I listen to anything while writing, I can't concentrate at all, so I end up not listening to anything.

i kind of listen to a mix of my favorites, mostly the ones that are really inspirational or really emotional. i have a spotify playlist called ‘writing’ that has all the songs that i normally listen to that gets me writing, and the most common artist/s are dodie or deh songs, but there are really just 3 of each. i have a broad music taste.

Classical, country, indie, folk, and speed rock.

Indie and folk because I like the fact that I can appreciate those lyrics, so it gets me to think harder about the wordplay in my writing. Examples: OMAM, Bastille, Passenger, American Authors, Fall Out Boy (they're a bit more soft rock than indie but eh)

Dragonforce because it often gets me to type faster and be more awake

Classical because it reminds me to go practice viola later on (no, seriously) and because most of my characters live in worlds where classical music is the norm. Mainly Dvorak, Holst, and Bach.

Country because it gets my writing to be either more or less depressing depending on the song and what mood I'm aiming for in the story. Usually the less pop-ish ones, both old and new; mainly Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Zac Brown (up until their recent songs), Lady A, etc. etc.

I listen to Queen mostly

It actually helps because of the various genres their songs are in, that means every single song is unique and gets me in a different mood every time

like when it goes from a lullaby to thrash metal i'm immediately inspired is that weird
yes thats my best example owo Flora's heard both of those songs lmao
