Sulfurous Scratch Chess Engine Tournament - March 2019
Announcing the March 2019 Sulfurous Scratch Chess Engine Tournament (as it is unsure how long the Sulfurous Engine will still be able to access Scratch 2.0 versions of projects). Bonsai on level Green Belt, Game of Kings on level Medium (seems fair, as most engines have pretty short think time on Sulfurous). For The Turk to be able to play white against Midecah, I will feed it with an “inverse” FEN board. Also, it will be a The Turk remix playing, as the original project has been unshared for maintenance currently. Midecah does not work on Sulfurous, and will be running on Scratch 3.0 instead.

Tournament On Hold
The tournament is currently on hold, as Midecah Chess stopped working on Scratch 3.0 (it never worked on Sulfurous). Last option might be to use the Scratch 2.0 version (obtainable via Scratch API) on Scratch 2.0 offline editor. Let's see.

OK, it seems Midecah Chess still works on Firefox (not on Chrome though), so the tournament can continue…

Game #7
Bonsai was clearly on the road to victory after a wild punch-by-punch exchange, when it suddenly started to move and remove its pieces one after the other.

chess is a good thinking game to play. It can even be played online. If you don't know chess then read this.
if you're new to chess then you should learn all the pieces on the board and learn about them.
*King: the most important piece on the board. The king is weak since it can move 1 square in all direction each. But it can be strong in the endgame.
*Queen: The queen is the most powerful piece on the board. It has 9 points. It can go all direction ( horizontally, diagonally, and vertically) at any vacant square on the board.
*Rook: The rook has 5 points. It can go any numbers of square vertically and horizontally.
*knight (or horse): They can jump over pieces and the can move in an “L” shape. They also cost 3 points.
*bishop: They can move any number of free squares diagonally. They also cost about 3 points ( or 3.5 to be more precise).
*Ponds: The weakest piece on the board is ponds. They can move one direction, and can't hop over pieces. They can't move forward if it's blocked by another piece. But to capture the piece you have to get it by moving left or right. But if they reach to the other edge of the board, they can become any other piece beside the king and the pond. Their also 1 point.
You can even set up traps to the other opponent. This is called a gambit. Some of them have 1 or very few solutions to get out of it but some don't.
You can even take advantage of that. Their's even traps like a discovery attack. Plus their's more!

Game #9
Scratch chess engines seldomly draw due to threefold repetition (probably with the exception of Game of Kings and Bonsai), but this time it happened between The Turk and Archimedes Chess, despite Archimedes having material advantage. With that The Turk secured 2nd place in this tournament.

Game #10
Midecah Chess is known for losing pieces (and I mean literally just like this, not due to captures), this time already after 3 moves. Bonsai finished 3rd, and would have gained 2nd place, had it not started moving pieces arbitrarily in its game against The Turk.
