so um, I just noticed almost everyone cannot load a scratch file in the new 3.0 editor, 3 days ago I was working on a hard worked point and click game but the internet was down in the middle of making it, the day after that I tried to load it but it kept saying “project could not be loaded”. I always double check my internet.


here's my details just in case My browser / operating system: Windows 7, Chrome 71.0.3578.98, No Flash version detected the .sb3 file was 15.6MB


I hope this bug will get fixed, I don't want my hard worked project to be down the drain. oh and there is no traces of the project, only “untitled” with the default sprite.

This is just a 3.0 Glitch. It makes all sb3 and sb2 files un-useable. Same thing happened to me and I lost 5+ hours of work on a project.

Hi there, new user here - and yeah - did that “adventure game” (fortunately only spent/lost a few hours on it), and since the “save now” feature wasn't available, I saved the .sb3 file to my computer.

Scratch won't import that .sb3 file to either my own workspace or the workspace that opens up when you click on Adventure Game tutorial. It was a fun game. I'm sad that the only response to this was “that's just how 3.0 is…” I'm so new I didn't know there was even a 1.0 or 2.0 to necessitate a 3.0……….

If there are any solutions, or if the import problem gets fixed, I'd love to know, so I can import my game and share it with you all. Thanks so much.

project was reasonably large thangy. (Hardboard t 1.2, features a fully (for a scratch project) functional “text” editor that uses an on screen keyboard, along with another, fully functional (again for scratch, but i do need to fix display to show more than first 10 files in perm) file browser! )

I know that in Scratch 3, there is a 10 MB size limit for each asset and a 5 MB project.json limit (info here, I'm glad this page was updated) so it may be because you are hitting one of those limits.
I'd also advise creating a new topic in terms of reporting issues as the original poster doesn't seem to need help with this issue (last post from them was over a year ago)

Try Loading the .sb3 file from the File menu. Go to File and click load from your computer

I need help guys

Basiclly I have this offline sb2 file that i spend countless hours on and today when i try to open it it's empty.

I checked and the file size is quite big so the game is still there but when i open it there is only the default scratch cat.

When i try to open it on scratch's website it says file failed to load

Can someone tell me how do I fix this?

Guys can you please stop replying to this? this is literally like 2 years old and the problem has been obviously fixed ages ago.
