Games With Better Originals Than Sequels

Well, definitely not Portal or War for Cybertron… Mm…

Maybe Brain Age 2 as opposed to its successor?

Well, I definitely feel like the original Portal affected me more than Portal 2 did, although P2 was longer and had a bit better storyline.

I suppose even though I never actually played the original there's a bit of nostalgia to games like Counter-Strike 1.6 that the newer versions (Source and Global Offensive just don't).

I think Portal 2 portrayed GLaDOS' character a lot better and really gave her development, and I really like the history of Aperture being built into the storyline; it makes it that much more real for me.

GLaDOS forever…

Well I guess we can just agree that the series as a whole was absolutely stunning. There are things that are better about the second than the first (Cave Johnson FTW, also soundtrack) but overall the first one came at a time that threw me into a bit of obsession. I still feel a bit more of a connection to Portal that I didn't feel for 2. I should play through both of them again though, and finish my first playthrough of the Half-Life series.

Tales of Symphonia is miles better than its sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. I mean I still get a kick out of playing DotNW, but if we're looking at it critically, it's pretty bad in comparison.

Deus Ex was much better than Invisible War IMO.
