Menu or No Menu?
Okay, guys. So I have this game that I'm working on that has a menu, but there are a few problems with the menu that I don't really feel like fixing. Which is where you come in.
Do you guys prefer games that bring you straight into the action, games that present you with a play button and then the action, or games that have a menu system to meddle through before you get to play. Do you guys mind having to press the green flag every time you want to start a new game?
(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.)

Menu or No Menu?
It's a space shooter that mixes Tempest-esque movement (as portrayed in this video) with Galaga-esque enemies and gameplay. There's no storyline; in fact, there's nothing other than the actual game itself and the menu.
I'm having an issue with cloning related to the menu backdrop animation (I've had an issue with cloning enemies in the past, but that was fixed with a visit from the Scripts Team) and wonder if I should just get rid of the menu altogether and go straight into the game à la Pear Blaster.

Menu or No Menu?
I would put a menu with a play button, options button, and delete data button. The delete data button would play an animation and You'll have to press the green flag again to play. The play button could have a
broadcast [Play v]block to start the game. I think a menu could get more love-its because there's big code. I know it's hard work (kind of), but it's worth it. Trust me.
