I have a typo in one of my broadcast names, and I can't figure out how to rename or delete broadcasts in Scratch 3.0 ?

edit: as soon as i posted this i realized i could delete the broadcast by just deleting all the instances of it in my workspace, and that works fine ! but if anyone knows if it's possible to rename broadcasts in 3.0 without deleting and remaking them lemme know !

Yes, they is a way to rename broadcast blocks. Once you make the block there should be a little arrow, click that arrow and you should be able to rename the block. If you have any more questions if he happy to help.

thanks ! that is the way that worked for me in scratch 2.0, but now in scratch 3.0 there does not seem to be a rename option on that drop-down menu… just “New message” and then the broadcasts i had already created.

No problem! Yeah. I just looked at the blocks and I don't see the rename option either.

In 2.0, you could right-click on the black arrow to bring up the option of renaming (and other options as well)

That option isn't available in Scratch 3 (at moment - maybe it will be re-added)

This is actually kinda painful if you are using the backpack and bring in broadcasts from another project.
+1 Need this in Scratch 3.

Renaming broadcasts was a useful quality of life feature in Scratch 2.0, in Scratch 3.0 to “rename” a broadcast you need to make a new broadcast and then change EVERY instance of the broadcast you want to rename to the new one, which requires a lot of digging through scripts and scrolling. I'd love it if the rename feature was brought back as it was quite useful in some cases, and convenience is basically always good.

At the moment, renaming broadcasts is not possible in 3.0.
