Change username for my nine-year-old

Hi there,

My nine-year-old son has created a profile name for himself that I think may raise eyebrows when we submit his Scratch projects for home education evaluation. Is there any way to change his profile name without deleting his account? He's been working on some great projects and we want to keep his account exactly as it is…apart from the name! Cheers, Tania (KickassKitty09's mum!)

Change username for my nine-year-old

Hello, there. Hope this helps:

The suggestion for changing a username has been rejected by the Scratch Team various times. However, the only way to get a new username is to sign up for a new account. You have mentioned that you don't want to delete your son's projects, and that is very understandable. You could use the backpack tool to move the code, sounds, and art into the new account. This way, the username is changed yet all the projects are kept.

Here are some projects that may help do this:

Have a nice day!

Alternatively, you can download the project to a file on your computer, then create a new account, and then upload the project to the new account.

Guys. The Scratch Team has changed usernames in rare cases where the user name contains inappropriate content, and I think this is one of them.

@Kick***Kitty09: Scroll to the bottom of the page, click “Contact Us”, and write your request to the Scratch Team for a username change. They'll probably acknowledge it.
