"CloneAlert" idea
Yes; this suggestion helps bring about that message by hiding/disabling the remix button until even a minor change is made. But didn't you guys (The ST) already confirm that remixes are fine as long as one thing (even if it's minor) is changed, added, or removed? No support, please read the stickies before posting. If I understand the original post correctly, the suggested system would only allow a remix if a valid change was detected - what makes a change “valid” could be a subject of debate.
Remixes are to change something, even if it's minor. But I do think there should be a way to prevent VDRU(view, download, reupload).

No Support
Remixing with no changes on the program/sound/costumes is sometimes useful - To copy projects to 2nd/test account or only to translate Notes.
Also, it might block useful and good changes.
Adding blocks is always useful. For example,
How about a contest or a collaboration? If it's art contest, they would add only a costume (unused!)
If (false) is used to comment-out a script in many programming languages.

Yes, I knew that. I was asking Paddle why they said that the topic of what an acceptable remix is is debatable when they already have on answer for it.Yes; this suggestion helps bring about that message by hiding/disabling the remix button until even a minor change is made.

Well they can take a picture of not only just the report button, but perhaps the project report button? It's really unclear, it focuses on the forum post link button. It represents the report button.I'm unsure what the “click me” forum post image is supposed to represent?

I'm sure that has been debated at some point in this rather extensive topic anyway. :PNo support, please read the stickies before posting. If I understand the original post correctly, the suggested system would only allow a remix if a valid change was detected - what makes a change “valid” could be a subject of debate.

It would have to be something clearly noticeable to all who use the project, not something small right at the end or one codeblock moved or something silly like that. It would have to be a reasonable sized change

I like where you are going with this, although this would take a long time to implement, or even impossible.
I support this idea. But I just don't know how this will be implemented.
Semi-support, on one hand you have copies and blatant plagiarism, on the other you have the questions of, “How would this work?” and, “Is this possible?”The last two are the most important part when offering a suggestion. We need people to also offer ways on how to accomplish it.
We're all for the suggestion on preventing a remix, but none so far have offered a viable way on how to develop such a system.
I support this idea. But I just don't know how this will be implemented.

I disagree; showing the remix button after even a small change is fine because it's easy to implement (it can just borrow the trigger for the “remix to save” button) and should prevent a lot of remix copies.I'm sure that has been debated at some point in this rather extensive topic anyway. :PNo support, please read the stickies before posting. If I understand the original post correctly, the suggested system would only allow a remix if a valid change was detected - what makes a change “valid” could be a subject of debate.

To require a change that affects the project will just come as a challenge to some determined copiers, and they'll find a way around it.

14. Banning minor remixes:From the rejected suggestions thread.
Remixes are allowed as long as at least something is changed, even if it's minor. However, a remix that only changes something extremely small and hard to notice can be taken down.

Support because of this. Remixes should not be functionally identical.14. Banning minor remixes:From the rejected suggestions thread.

Semi-support, but I don't think hiding the remix button is a good example. I think that hiding the share button after you remixed the project would be better.
2] What if it's like a collaboration, art contest, MAP, etc. That means I'll have to finish my part then remix. It might also be more trouble than it's worth for some Scratchers.
Besides that, I give my full support.
hides the remix button until someone modifies the project1] Sometimes I remix so I can see the coding. (example: Platform coding.) That way, if I have way too many favorites one day, I won't have to look through it all. Or maybe the project gets deleted so I can't look at it.

NO SUPPORT. I remixed many projects just to add their solution, workaround or hacked block for any problem or function into my backpack and I don´t want to need more steps (adding unnecessary blocks etc.) just to be able to remix them. If you still want that restriction, let everyone remix anything and just hide the “Share” button for these remixes.
P.S.:I know that this filter would block sharing only unchanged and fully copied remixes, but still, wouldn´t Scratch team think that this function would violate the Scratch motto, Imagine, Program, SHARE? Also, how are you gonna decide which change is big enough to fulfill the requirement of CloneAlert system?

interesting idea but it'd have to be very easy to have a project be considered not a copy as to not count as censoring remixes with small changes because that's something the scratch team do not like.

Even though some of the blocks mentioned wouldn't do anything, I think this is still rejected under “censor minor remixes”.
