Fair point, the next released version might not be 4.0. It could very well be 3.1 or maybe even 3.4 as the above post stated.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's “most likely” going to be v3.4, though. 4.0 or 3.1 would be my best guesses for what the next version will be.
